Does anyone know when the loophole will start working for Wisconsin? I’m waiting on my Audit Score which its sounds like is out but not sure when the loophole would begin working.

    BEC - 80
    REG - 74
    FAR - 72

Yeah..I think I'm going to write a letter to the WI board expressing my opinion regarding their current process… It really puts WI candidates at a disadvantage.

I just got home from work. Alas, I got a 70. I kind of expected it since I could register for it.

    REG,BEC,FAR - PASS, AUD 70, retake 4/26/11 85

If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

CPAGreen is busy looking for a stiff drink. 🙂 The loophole worked for me. I did not pass Auditing and I'm extremely disappointed. I really don't know what to do. I was getting 80's and 90's on the Becker material before my exam. Ever since the loophole allowed me to re-register I've been studying for Auditing again and I'm still getting the same results 5 weeks later 80+. I feel like I just wasted the last 6 months of my life since I didn't pass FAR in October and now Auditing. I don't know what my problem is…maybe i didn't read the questions carefully I don't know. This sucks. Any suggestions? I've gotten through chapter 3 on the becker lectures and I've been taking a lot of notes. Should I focus more on just MCQs or lectures and reading the material? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

On another note, congratulations to everyone with passing scores. 🙂 What a wonderful feeling to have after waiting so long.

If anyone else is in the same boat as I am, could you please share your game plan?

CPA GREEN – dont give up. If I can pass these things then anyone can. I was never the smartest one in any class but I was probably the most determined. All I can say is dont focus so much on the mqc's % especially for audit. the key is to read all the anwswer choices solutions and understand why the correct answer is the best one. Also I have noticed on here that for some people becker does not get them over the hump. You may want to try yager or rodgers that have a different approach.

    AUD 89
    BEC 84
    FAR 87
    REG 94!! ALL DONE

For the record, the loophole worked for me and two of my buddies. Our assumptions were confirmed. And I should add that this was my first test and it was their second test…

    Thanks, Peter Olinto Fan!

    WI_11 – Congrats!

Accounting Pilot – You're a genius, for sure!

Sleepless – So close to passing. I know you must feel disappointed, but with being so close, a little more time, and you'll nail it.

CPAGreen – I used Becker too, but I worked in auditing, which was very helpful. Your score report may shed some light on the areas you need to focus on for next time. For that section, I would advise breaking down the concepts for each unit to ensure you understand the material, as the exam really tests the application of principles over memorization. If your score is close, a little more study time will probably get you there. Make sure to do everything in Becker and read the chapters at least twice, preferably three times very well. Good luck! Lots of people here understand and are cheering for you.

    FAR - 94 (7/10)
    AUD - 99 (8/20)
    REG - 99 (10/15)
    BEC - 88 (11/20)

    CPAGreen;

You will have a better idea of what to study when you get your performance evaluation. Do you have the Becker flashcards? They helped me a ton with audit. I know you don't need to memorize the audit report, but I did. I'm not a very good test taker so it helped to have it memorized. When I had a question about the audit report I would go through it in my head so I wouldn't have to “think” about the answer. Also, once you have the main audit report memorized it is easier to compare and contrast the other reports, which will help with the mcq's. I'm in the same boat for REG. I haven't started studying yet because I don't know where to begin. Should I just re-do all the Becker stuff again? Or focus on my weaker areas? Or try a new review program? I was weaker in simulations and property transactions.

    Paper Exam May 2002; AUD 62, LPR, 63, FAR 49, ARE 70
    Paper Exam Nov 2003; AUD 72, LPR, 72, FAR 67, ARE 71
    CBT 2010; AUD 83 FAR 76 BEC 78 REG 73,(2/28/11 NTS # 446) 75 and DONE!

@WI_11 Thanks for your advice and congrats on passing. Best of luck in the future.

@Jan_in_WI I appreciate your suggestions. I will definetly try breaking down concepts for each unit to ensure that I really understand the concepts better. Congrats on passing as well.

@WisconsinCPA2be Yes, I do have the Becker auditing flashcards. I'm trying to use them now as i move on to other chapters to review the concepts so they stay fresh in my mind. (Hopefully) 73…so close. Regulation was the first exam I took and passed. I took a lot notes for that part and created my own flashcards. Very timing consuming but I think it helped me remember all the different rules and exceptions. With being so close with a 73, I would still review the concepts you are comfortable with but focus mostly on your weaker areas. (I may not be the right person to give suggestions though…..LOL) Good luck and keep in touch

Nice to see all of you back on here again. I hope everyone had a great testing window. 🙂 At least this time around we know to check the MI website for scores as well.

I never took the 2010 version of REG, so I have nothing to compare my experience against. But in short, I hated it. REG is, and always will be, my worst subject area in accounting. Tax and law can go someplace cold (like Wisconsin….heh) and die for all I care.

Strangely enough, I did not feel terrible when I left the test. It is only that I have had time to think about the test that I am becoming more and more nervous about the score release. I did not think the testlets became harder (but I did not think FAR got harder either…) and some of the questions touched on topics that I did not study very thoroughly. I am not sure I can ever study for REG and feel ready to take the test. There are too many phaseouts, exemptions, special rules, exceptions to the special rules, and exceptions to the exceptions for me to understand. And don't get me started on AMT and depreciation. It is funny how a topic I thoroughly enjoyed in FAR (depreciation) can become a living hell in REG.
