@dyates1983 To be honest, my overall approach to retaking FAR wasn't really to focus on specific details I felt I missed from the first exam. I've seen people get lower scores on their retake and fail again. I really didn't want that to happen to me. For the first FAR exam, I took about 4 months to review all the sections which included 1 week for review. I watched videos, read the text, and took notes. This was my approach because I finished grad school about two years ago and was concerned I may have forgotten a lot of the detailed accounting information. My overall approach for my retake was to condense the time reviewing each section not focus on specific details based on what was on my first exam. I pushed really hard to review 3 of the 4 sections in one month. This mostly involved reading the text and rewriting notes. I only watched a video if the material was confusing. I think this happened only once or twice. It was really difficult staying on track for my retake. I had to study everyday. It was brutal! Oh, I did focus on any material that I was having trouble with during my restudy but I made sure to try and ignore what I felt like I missed on the first FAR exam. The funny thing is I actually ignored the State and Local government section because I scored “stronger” in that section. I have a background in state and local government so that came easy to me. I don't recommend doing this unless you really feel comfortable in a section. One more thing I did for my restudy was look at my score summary to see which sections I was categorized as “weaker”. For the weaker sections, I simply started re-studying those first. This approach ensured that I was covering my weaker areas multiple times. That's mainly it. It was really hard to block out specific details that I felt I missed from the first exam but I knew I was going to get a totally different exam and I did. Good Luck on your retake!
