I am also going to take REG next year in Feb 2011. I find that the topic of property transactions has given me a lot of trouble. Do you know any good strategies on tackling this?

81 on FAR and DONE! I have passed and stayed true to my name. Now on to the ethics exam. I've posted my materials that I used to pass my sections. I am a non Yeagar/Becker user. I had to switch to RogerCPA for FAR because the material was too dry for me to figure it out. Roger did a great job of keeping it interseting and of course cpareviewforfree stayed true in my supplement. I never failed a section when I started using cpareviewforfree to supplement and do random questions on the fly. With all my sections completed, I feel like I probably could have passed REG, BEC, & AUD with cpareviewforfree only. FAR was just a different beast.
Also, I passed FAR without completing two full sections on the simulations. I know I totally destroyed the communications and research tabs. I simply ran out of time. The test went from easy to ridiculous on the multiple choice so I figured I did really well there considering I scored stronger is every single multiple choice section but one. FAR is definetly a bigtime curve. This was the worst I felt I did on an exam that I passed. The other times I walked out confidently knowing that I had passed thinking the test was pretty easy.
REG - 67, 76 (Q4 2009) - Used CPAExcel first time, Used CPAExcel + CPAReviewForFree
BEC - 83 (Q1 2010) - CPAExcel + CPAReviewForFree

December 23, 2010 at 3:44 pm #268522AnonymousInactiveCongrats folks and condolences – I myself got a freaking lump of coal in my stocking from the CBA and I didn't even call them once – I'm pissed – lol. I got a 69!!! dagnabit the indignity – I think my mom was more upset than me which is annoying too. I got a 72 the last time ughhh. The only positive is that I rocked not for profit with an 82 you'd think that would have helped me get at least another 72!!!! I guess the feeling I had when I came out of having know stuff but then having made stupid mistakes was spot on, its like when I do practice mcq's I'll usually get the question wrong and then pick the right one the second time….but yeah I flip flopped and was comparable and stronger on MCQ and NFP and written com but weaker every where else – sometimes woefully so per the breakdown and it doesn't help I guess that I'm always bad with the SIMS so I guess I really need to make sure I can do them next time. Soooo mad but at least I know I need to start studying for real rather than just doing it as a place holder/treading water – I'm almost done watching all the lectures but I better watch it and be done with them by this weekend so I can have 3 weeks for just mcq and some note writing – although not sure if I'll be able to re-write all my notes in true NINJA fashion….just so urgh, not crying just mad. I waited all this time for a dang 69 – yuck!!!!

I plan to use Becker for REG. My weaknesses on this section have always been property transactions and tax procedures. Just work on more and more MCQ and SIMS and you're good. I highly recommend taking the Simulated Exams on the Becker CD because they give you a wider array of questions that you may see on the real exam.
FAR (5/27/10) - 87
REG (8/27/10) - 66, (2/25/11) - 74, (4/21/11) - 85
