People….. i need an honest assessment!!

here is how my exam went……

Testlet 1…. A little roughed up felt like i was slightly below passing levels potentially

Testlet 2…. A modest margin above passing levels

Testlet 3…. A modest margin above passing levels

Simulations…….. Aced 2 whole simulations…. did right at passing level on 2 simulations….. Bombed 1 simulation and did not answer the research question.

What should i expect……. i just need an opinion of any kind….. i need to mentally prepare for a likely outcome.

to note…. i have been struggling with the CPA exam since 2007…. i currently have Auditing and BEC passed…. my BEC credit expires May 31 2012.

I have taken AUD 6 times and passed it twice cause i lost credit once 75, 85

i have taken BEC 3 times and passed it once 75

    i have taken FAR once failed… 61

i have taken REG 3 times including time i am waiting for failed 1st two times by a wide margin…. but i was a ton more prepared for this test…

OPINIONS….. DO I SLIP A PASS IN OR FALL SHORT…. I NEED OPINIONS SO THAT I CAN LET MY SELF DOWN EASY IF I FALL SHORT.

@jon5kshp1: I have never walked out of a test thinking “Oh I just Aced that SIMS”, so I think it's definitely a sign that you are pretty comfortable the material.

CPA tests are sometimes very random and uncontrollable, it does happen that you feel SO ready and still get a failing grade, or you walk in screwing it up and pass. Don't take it too hard and doubt yourself, but don't give up on studying, because the material tested next time might not be the same as last time.

Testlet 2…. A modest margin above passing levels

Testlet 3…. A modest margin above passing levels

Simulations…….. Aced 2 whole simulations 100%…. did right at passing level on 2 simulations 75-80%….. Bombed 1 simulation on AAA Acct and OAA Acct….(had no idea how to calculate probably got all wrong) and did not answer the research question. (could not for the life of me find the answer after 15 min of searching)

DOES THIS SOUNDS LIKE A PASS OR A FAIL?????

idk…i thought i bombed the all SIMS on Auditing and I passed

so i say its more likely a pass…

giving up is not in my vocab. haha so we are all good there. a cpa means taking over a small practice down the road in my particular situation so i am all in.

It's very hard to tell. really, 'cause we don't know what are pre-test and what are not. There are like 15 MCQ are pre-test, and 1 SIM pre-test. So, it really depends on your luck. Unless you aced everything or bombed everything, it's just very unpredictable…my overall feeling after the exam is that I might score few points below or above 75……this doesn't help, but I think majority here are feeling the same way…and this adds anxiety and excitement when it's close to score release date…

@kronewantstobecpa Just to get an idea here…… your not one of those students who thought they did horrible on tests in highschool and college and then ended up with a 90 were you? hahaha cause if so…..saying you bombed simulations and still passed doesnt give me a ton of confidence based on knowing i actually no doubt bombed 1 whole simulation hahahaha

Here is the worst part of my whole situation….

IF I FAIL….. I need to start studying again on thursday at a fairly intense pace for a Quick REG RETAKE which i would sit for between the 10th and 15th of January…. Meaning i need to study during the peak christmas holiday rush… which is brutal…

IF I PASS…. i can start casually start studying FAR (Scheduled for Feb 29th) and not have to ramp up the studying INTENSITY until after New Years Day……

to conclude…. FAIL = PUTS A DAMPER ON THE HOLIDAY AND I HAVE TO MANAGE TO DRUM UP MOTIVATION BUT ALSO GET IN ALL THE EXTRA CHRISTMAS ERRANDS AND SHOPPING.

PASS = low pressure studying until JAN 1 I WANT THIS!!

Anyone has an idea on the release date for BEC scores in Texas? I took mine on 11/29. I don't want to wake up at 4:30 and found out it's the wrong date to check…thanks

The scores are being released on my birthday but I won't get them until 1-2 days later! Darn non-NASBA Oklahoma!

    BEC - 85
    FAR - 85
    REG - 82
    AUD - 68, 88

@ CPA_Convertable I believe all of the scores until the end of the window should be reported tomorrow by NASBA and then however long TX takes if it is a non-NASBA state. Feel free to correct if I am wrong!

    BEC - 85
    FAR - 85
    REG - 82
    AUD - 68, 88
