FAR – 459 – Oklahoma – my grade just posted: 84!!!!!! Who's your daddy, FAR?

    AUD – 85 (Becker) – 82 (Roger CPA / Wiley)

    BEC – 73 (Becker) – 81 (Becker) – 83 (Roger CPA / Wiley / BEC Ninja)

REG – 80 (Becker – expired – anyone seeing a pattern here????? We all just want to pass once and I am passing these stupid things at least twice – learn from my mistake and do it in one shot – retake in Feb, 2012)

    FAR – 69 (Becker) – 74 (Yaeger <

the WORST video lectures ever: “alright, okay, yeah, uh, alright” – JUST SAY IT ALREADY!!!) – 72 (Roger CPA / Wiley) – 84 (Becker / Wiley / Ninja FAR)

Please, please, please do two things, no matter which reviews you use: BUY THE NINJA study guides! Do what Jeff says and rewrite the notes out….review them…and rewrite them again. This helped me to pass BEC (for the second time) and FAR (FINALLY for the first time). Also, do the Wiley workbook questions. They are harder than Becker. Good luck!

i failed BEC again!! i am taking this exam in jan/feb 2012 again.

i continue using the becker cpa review course material and find that it is not enough material for me to pass.

i feel Becker course for BEC doesn't prepare you enough.

i would appreciate all advice and input provided.

is there any other cpa material that you recommend so that i can narrow my search in purchasing another cpa material?

please help me out with your valuable input. i would really appreciate it šŸ™‚

ps……..i have passed all other 3 cpa exam sections so this is very encouraging to tackle the last cpa exam.

    thank you all šŸ™‚

    macistna95,

I took BEC first in November 2010 because I had just completed my CMA and MBA and felt I had a better handle on that material. To study I used Gleim book AND software – you can get both for about $150.00. I was scoring around 70% on the Gleim software and ended up with an 86 (this was in 2010 so no essay). I recommend Gleim, I used two prep courses for each exam, Gleim was the common denominator.

    BEC 86

    REG 77

    AUD 72, 85

    FAR 63, 82

My advice: Take the Roger CPA course / do the Wiley homework (this book/software is included with the Roger CPA course)…and get the Ninja course offered here on the web site. I did not pass BEC the first time using Becker. I did pass with Roger CPA (my last time). You will see his lecture review book and the Wiley homework book and be shocked at how thin they are…but trust me…the material is not to be treaded through lightly. It is packed with what you need to pass. Do the Wiley questions over and over. If you get the answers right, move on. Focus on your weak areas. And, most important, what helped me the most was rewriting the review notes…studying them…and reviewing them again. Don't give up!!!!!!

@under — For me increasing my score was a result of a couple of things:

    1) Increasing the amount of quality study time I had and

    2) Upgrading to a (in my opinion) better study system (from Gleim to Becker).

Number 1 was probably most important. This meant isolating myself from distractions so that I could focus 100% on the material. Sounds simple but it was extremely hard for me to do. I also wrote out flashcards and quizzed myself when I had some downtime. I also put in a significant amount more of study time. Previously, I would come home from work and study for an hour or so if I felt like it. My head wasn't really in it. Now, once I come home and eat dinner, it's study time until I go to bed. On the weekends, I would wake up at 6am, take a lunch break at noon, study until dinner, and then study until bed. I did that for 10 weeks and got a 75.

One week prior to taking the exam, I re-watched all the lectures for every section and took notes, pausing if there was anything I didn't understand. 3 days prior to the test, I took a pratice test and hit the MCQs pretty hard. It all paid off in the end. Just have to tackle FAR now.

Maybe, someone can point me in the right direction. I have 2011 Becker material and will be sitting for BEC in January. Is it worth the extra $ to get the updated 2012 material? How much is the exam content expected to change?

A Becker rep mentioned I could just download the supplements, but those won't be available until the end of the year. Any other BEC advice is appreciated.

Yeah, I guess I must be in the second wave group. I took it Nov 30th with the hopes of only having to wait a week to get score, but oh well. Maybe in a day or two.
