Still waiting on BEC score. If I did not pass does the report of what you need to work on come in the mail with your paper results?

    @ Carl37854

You'll receive a letter that show your strength of each part of the exam only if you didn't pass, or receive a letter simply show you passed the exam (if you did pass.) The letter usually delivered in about 2 weeks after your score is posted on the web.

Hopefully, we all get our score today~

@jj012 — For REG, I thought all of my 3 MCQ testlets were average difficulty. I did not notice a drastic difference between them. They say the testlets get harder if you are doing better, but I did not really notice this trend. Out of the 72 MCQs, there were probably only 2 I had no idea on, so I felt like I had a pretty solid understanding of the core concepts. I felt that I bombed the simulations and walked out of the exam feeling pretty bad. In fact, I had been studying the past 2 weeks waiting for my score in case I failed and had to retake in January. Alas, I was overjoyed when I found out I passed. Time to destroy FAR.

AICPA and all the state couterparts are the worst of captialism and commumism combined – Monopoly and Bureaucracy!!!!!!!!…

Wonder why they didn't come up with County Board of Accountacy, first AICPA release their score to the State Board, then the State Board will release them to the County Board of Accountancy, then release to City Board…..and all us here to be starting a thread like “my score is in transition to the county board now! yeah!”…

    Candle man.

This was a close shave for you……. My testlets did go up a bit in difficulty but not by much. On the SIMS did you attempt some of the tabs and filled in something?

Haha on my REG my first testlet was average, and I felt really good about it. Then I got to the second testlet and it was absolutely impossible. It took me over an hour just to complete the second testlet. Then the third testlet went back to average so I think I did poorly on the second testlet. But it was ridiculous, every question was very math intensive, and there were questions with conflicting tax laws, every question was at least 5 lines long, etc. I ended up with an 80.

    jd….

How did you do on the SIMS? and the research? If you spend 1 hour on the 2nd testlet, i bet you barely had any time left for testlet 4. Were the SIMS doable..?

I felt very good about the SIMS, I did not find them to be very difficult. The research question on the otherhand was a crap shoot, I never got a single one correct in the Becker SIMS so I assume I probably got it wrong on the actual REG Exam. According to the analytics it said I did “Stronger” on the SIMS. All in all I still walked out with almost 40 minutes left.

    Thanks JD

For the life of me, i dont understand this exam, this whole process of grading, to curve, to difficulty level within the testlets , pretest questions, etc. One of my SIMS tabs was so poorly worded that i could not even understand the call of the question….. Some people find it so hard that they go and look up material in the research tab for answers and there are some like you who can finsih the SIMS and walk with 40 mins surplus….. This exam is a royal torture

Where can you see the analytics that lists the parts you were comparable, stronger, etc? Does it depend on the state?

    AUD - 97
    BEC - 87
    FAR - 89
    REG - 85

@mena — Yes, I completed all the sims. I left myself with about 75 minutes to complete the sims and I wish I would have had another 10 minutes. I felt a little rushed but the sims were so difficult that even if I did have another 10 minutes I'm not sure it would have helped all that much. I've known people to leave sims blank and still pass, but I wouldn't recommend it. I have no idea how they grade these tests, so my instinct is something is better than nothing.

Im not sure if its state dependent, but Im in MD and on the MD State board website where it lets me check scores it lets me open my “Uniform CPA Exam Score Notice” and within that it has an analytics section. It pretty much just compares you to other candidates who scored a 75, and tells you how you did compared to them.

    It looks like this:

    by Content Area

(% of multiple choice questions) Your Perfomance Compared to Passing Candidates (Weaker/Comparable/Stronger)

    Corporate Governance (16-20%) Weaker

As you can see I sucked at Corporate Governance.

They also disclaim it and kind of say its not a good indicator of overall performance.

I have passed all the sections of the exam and would like to share some of my thoughts. I used Becker as my study materials for all the sections, except for Regulation. I started Regulation at the beginning of 2011 and I failed the first time with a score of 70 and I failed the second time as well with a score of 73. (the SIMS were just very hard that I couldn't understand what they were asking or maybe because I am not a tax person) I then purchased Yaeger for my Regulation study and I personally think Yaeger did a very great job on the taxation section compared to Becker. Then I eventually passed Regulation with a score of 92.

Therefore, if you are going to start Regulation and are using Becker and you are not a tax person, remember to search for supplemental materials. Good luck!

    BEC - 77 (08/2010)
    AUD - 83 (11/2010)
    REG - 70, 73, 92 (08/2011)
    FAR - 93 (11/2011) I AM DONE!!!!
