Sorry to hear you failed, that sucks.
One thing that I have noticed about audit, is that a few of the sims really could be considered FAR topics. In my opinion audit should be taken after FAR, because if you get one of these sims it could easily be 5%+ of your score.
Also AUD just has tons and tons of rote memorization. A couple of things that reallyhelped me were making a whole lot of flash cards. Another thing I did was create a ‘cheat sheet' in my head, which wrote down on the scrap paper they give you for the exam. I included a bunch of different charts and things that I thought would help me not many any ‘stupid' mistakes. For example, I made a chart showing for each type of audit problem (scope, gaap, independence) what type of opinion could be given, as well as the changes to the audit report. While everyone obviously learns this for the exam, it was useful during the test to be able to use the chart to quickly identify what kind of audit problem it was, and the possible opinions.
I used Lamberts review for audit and found it really good compared to Yaeger. Good luck next time.
