I take AUD tomorrow (the 10th) and I’m already dreading the wait. I took my last test (BEC) on the first day of the window and had to wait six weeks, so I’m over with the waiting already!

@goingallin. thank you I wish I could quit my job but I am the bread winner in the family (my husband is 15yrs younger than me) and if I don't work no one eats. I am giving up and just going to have accept just being a regular accountant. Good Luck to you.

Failed BEC with a 67 🙁 my review class is not until February and I figured I would self study and try to pass it but that obviously didn't work. Moving on to REG and then I'll retake BEC and hopefully be done.

Gotta good ole 62 in FAR.. but it was to be expected, I only got halfway through the material. I'm not giving up – yes I work full-time, hubby, kids, MBA classes, yes I suck at testing always have and always will but what else am I going to do? Quit!?? – NAHHHH – I'll just be sure not to schedule a test in my “IM SO GONNA PASS THIS TEST IN 2 MONTHS” emotional state and actually not schedule it until unless I know the material inside and out..

Congrats to everyone that passed and to all of us over 40 and thinking that its age, timing, work life, family life, etc.. Trust me I've been on here long enough to see others who have much more on their plates, taken the exam over 12 times and eventually do pass. So why give up?

    AUD - 74 (3x), TBD

@MSCFISHER Q1 FAR group will “rock” with you me and Mtaylo all back in there… 🙁 so sorry you failed (so sorry we all failed)- I have to pass this time as well.

    @Dislcpa
I am very very sorry about your fail and your decision to move on. I understand and most probably if I were in your shoes I would decide to do the same but it still sucks. Like you I am an “older” candidate and at some point you do have to question whether the cost out weigh the benefits (kind of like the characteristics of the finical statements- HA see there NASB I DO know something about FAR ha ha ha)– anyway I just want to wish you luck and say it has been really great working with you in the forum. Happy Holidays and enjoy your family and not having this hang over your head!!

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

mary, question for you. i have been getting “there are no scores to display” since i started checking at 1:00am. Did you get a similar message prior to your score being released. i hope i am not in the much dreaded bubble and it ‘s just that the scores are delayed and i could get my outcome sometime today. can't wait longer. Oh god!!

congrats to all that passed and to those that didn't, don't give up. Keep at it.

K_G – if you are in IL then your scores are on the Board of Examiners website and they don't get posted until the morning. When i logged in around 8:15 the score was there. They usually post on twitter and FB when scores are uploaded but they still have not posted. They might still be in process. Keep checking their website!

@DISLCPA, I hate to see you quit when it is something you really want. Which programs have you tried, and how much are you able to study? I know you say that your family just doesn't allow you time to study, but does your husband know how important this is to you? Some people are at peace when they decide to not take the test again, and give up, but you don't seem to be.

It doesn't seem that you want to be “just a regular accountant”, even though there is nothing wrong with it. Talk to your husband about what he can do to help alleviate the lack of study time, maybe it is he cooks dinner and has it ready when you get home from work (not always possible I understand but still). These exams are hard, and sometimes it takes a few fails to figure out what YOU need to do to study better. This community is great for people that get discouraged, because you can learn from all of our failures, and not have to deal with it on your own.

Take the day to sulk and reevaluate if you really want to quit. Heck, take until after the holidays (Christmas, Hanukah, whichever one you celebrate). After that, get back to the drawing board! 3 failures suck, but it isn't the end of the world.

You can do this! If you have 15 minutes of downtime, that is 5-10 MCQ questions!

    REG: 80 (02/19/16)
    AUD: 83 (04/11/16)
    BEC: 78 (05/28/16)
    FAR: ?

@ginja. Thank you. He does know how important it is to me and I tell him all the time I need to study and he is like you will be ok, but he is the one who checks my scores and sees that I am not. I think after today he has finally realized. I only gave myself 4 weeks to study for audit and one week I was sick and couldn't study. I would study for 1.5hrs at work and then study another 1 to 1.5 when I got home, then I studied 4 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday. I used Ninja Audio, Plus and MCQ. You are correct in what you said I don't' want to give up but I don't know what to do to be able to pass.
