Wow! I'm seeing a lot of REG failures. I'm scared now. Even though I'm preparing as best as I can for my third retake on the 25th, I feel like this exam is going to be near impossible to beat. I'm going to try to give it all I got, but wow, this section is so scary.

Does anybody suggest, just staying way from BEC for this window and waiting to the next? I have heard alot of horror storys this window.

Fail BEC again, got 73(Aug 2011), 74(Nov. 2011), 74(1-5-2012). How many times I need to study in order to passssss? It is so frustrating.

@bnlacombe – it all depends on your schedule…I would recommend retaking the failed section next quarter and continue to build on the studying you have already done. But many factors could change that, whether you are taking classes for the course, you want to get in another exam in during this quarter, etc. Also, different things work for different people…

I took REG three times. May 2011 made a 66; decided to take a weekend review course ; retook in late November and made a 72. I crammed in December and retook Jan 3, 2012; passed with an 85.

When I crammed i studied in more detail Becker's problems on property transactions for partnerships, c-corp, s-corp ; ethics and legal responsibilities; and individual tax.

For now i say focus on BEC; give yourself April 1 for a retake of BEC; plan REG for end of may. retake REG July 1; if needed. that way during your dead month of cramming, you can quickly reinforce what your studied the first time through and study in more depth two or three areas.

I was so pleased to wake up this morning, check the CA website and see that I had passed FAR with a 78. When I first took this exam in August last year, I got a 71. I can't believe it. I only need BEC to go, scheduled for February 28th. Congratulations to everyone who received a passing score for this round. For those who did not, keep your heads up. Stay positive. Both REG, FAR and BEC I had to retake twice. I was fortunate enough to pass AUD the first time. Hopefully, BEC will be the last exam I take.

It's interesting when you find out who is a guy or who is a girl after you've thought they were the other sex all this time. Congrats RedRage! hopefully I'll be enjoying the CPA festivities in a couple weeks as well!
