    I stand by my statement.

After 1-3 months of studying, what's a few more days if you were going to sit for the exam right around the time they made the extension announcement? Were you all SO unprepared just DAYS before they decided to extend it? Doubtful…. Yeah you might add a point or two but if you end up passing with more than a 75 then more likely than not you were going to pass anyway.

Here are my two cents…not that anyone asked. I think it just depends on how prepared a person feels or not. If you understand the topics pretty well and are at least 90% confident in the material, then an extra week may not make much of a difference.

However, if there were one or two areas that you wish you could just spend more time nailing instead of having a fly-by understanding, then an extra week could boost a 70% confidence level to 80 or 90%. A lot of times we gain a general understanding. I personally prefer to overprepare than underprepare. I've gotten too many 74s to think a general understanding is enough! I definitely think an extra 20-30 hours to cement the material is worthwhile. It may get me over a 75 but at least it's not under.

    FAR Passed
    REG Passed
    AUD Passed
    BEC Passed

All aboard, this train's leaving. Next stop, TBD!

@dtomasello, I work on the external and internal reporting side of accounting, so there is a month every quarter and two months at year-end around the filing of the 10Qs and 10K that I can't touch. I come home between 10pm and 11pm on these days, add to that a wife and two kids ( I am sure I don't want to break my family to gain a license) as well as the 18 months policy and the picture gets more complex. All this gives me the opportunity to study every chapter only once, so getting four more days or 40 hurs of studying gives me a chance to read the materials a second time, maybe that will get me to the 75 mark and maybe it won't, but at least I will feel that I gave it my best.

Honestly I think a few more days of studying can be the difference between a 74 and a 75, so yes I think it is worth it. You never know if that ONE more concept you grasp could be the one that is heavily tested.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.
