    Counting down to Wave 2!!

I figured I’d give us a new thread since the original is already up to 51 pages and threads can get “glitchy” (for lack of a better word) after too many pages.

Hopefully this score release goes better than Wave 1 technologically and we all get our scores business day before like in the past. 16 days, 4 hours, 35 minutes, 30 seconds until Friday, 2/22 @ 2pm (complete guess time).

What’s everyone waiting for? I’m waiting for AUD. Really hoping to be 3/4 done at the end of February!!!

And idk if we'll see an extension. I was hit by the storm too and we only lost a couple days. The fact that it was only a couple days, and it was mid-window (rather than being the last week or something) makes me not sure we'll see an extension. Possible, but idk how likely it is. Doesn't seem as necessary compared to when Sandy came through and some test centers were closed for more than a week.

The only thing keeping me from refresh button right now is that I am in training, with limited access to internet, and my supervisor sitting close to me, so I can't do it over the phone nonstop, like I usually do in the office… I guess I will be productive this week after all…. Good luck guys… It's just couple of days away….

@K917 Usually in all my exams, only a few questions i would be 100% sure. Lot of questions i will be left with 2 options to choose. I am too from an audit background. Not sure it really helps in exams. I have failed 3 exams in AUD (scoring 71,74, &74), which i thought was the easiest one in CPA exams.

    BEC: 77(Nov 2010), 81(Jul 2012).
    FAR: 80(Jul 2012).
    REG: 72(Jul 2012), 78(Oct 2012).
    AUD: 71(Nov 2010),74(Jul 2012),74(Oct 2012),75(Jan 2013)- Thanks God, without you i couldnt have done this. I'M DONE !!!

@k917 I feel AUD is too competetive paper. Lot of ppl may be doing really well, that could be one of the reasons why i had a fail despite doing well. Why do you think AUD is so tough to pass?.

@sln – I've heard a lot of people tell me they thought they did well but ended up failing. I'm just trying to stay optimistic to get me through this week (audit sign-off is Friday).

As for being tough to pass this exam, I agree with you. Maybe people are doing well on this part so the bar to pass is set higher. My mom is an accounting professor, but had never worked or taught auditing when she took the exam, and she managed to get a 98 just from studying. If a lot of people are doing well, it seems like they would make it harder to pass, rather than let a higher % pass (just my guess, I don't have any proof of that). Or we're just not understanding the questions as well as we thing we are. I know I have a bad habit while doing practice tests of not reading the question well enough then getting it wrong because I missed a “not” or something. I try to be really careful when I'm taking the exam for real to prevent wrong answers because of this.

Random thought: I've decided (for me at least) it is much easier waiting for a score when you are not studying for another section. Studying can be distracting but I found it just reminded me that I was still waiting for a score! What do you all think- easier to wait while studying or not?

Also, since AUD is my last section, I am becoming accustomed to the sweet life of not having to study anymore. My significant other and I got to spend a whole weekend away together for the first time since I started this process. I really hope that I don't have to take this one again…

Yea, waiting is easier when you're not study. Or rather I find it easier to not have to study while waiting for a score. I knew I wouldn't get any effective studying in during February because of work so I don't start studying again until this weekend. It's been a nice “break”. I'm hoping to pass AUD too – it's not my last one but it would be nice to be 3/4 done.

@badger – I totally agree that it's no fun to be waiting for a score while studying. FAR was my first, and I jumped right into AUD after I took it. This week is crunch time for AUD, but I'm also so preoccupied with wanting my score.

Also, next time, I'm going to plan my exam date closer to the results date. It is torture to wait a month!

Anxiously waiting for REG. I'm not feeling too good about this one. I left the test thinking that I had to guess on way too many. I'm taking AUD on 2/25 so a little good news about passing REG would really boost my confidence going into AUD. A girl can dream 🙂

    F - 10/22/12 - 75
    A - 8/30/13 - 71, 70, ?
