    I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread for those waiting on the 8/25 score release! I’m waiting on BEC. If I pass, I will finally be done with these exams. So I’m hoping for good news…

    Anyone else waiting for scores? How do you guys feel about your exam?

    Got a 62 on FAR as my first test yet. My score report said I was weaker in literally every single section. I used Becker Test Prep for around 5 weeks @2-6 hours a day. I felt decent coming out of the exam but it definitely felt hard. So where do I go from here? I currently have REG scheduled for Sep. 25 and have already started studying for it. Should I retake FAR after I am done taking REG? How should i go about studying for FAR the second time around? Should I go through all of the information again completely or focus on just drilling multiple choices and sims?

    @April94 Congrats! That is awesome! WooHoo

    @Alex
    I would suggest that you do a complete review, especially since it showed weak across the board. Five weeks is a short period of time to study for any section, especially FAR. Did you follow everything in the Becker review course? I used Becker and found it to be very helpful for myself. I did not use Ninja but in hindsight I wish I did use it as a supplement so you should at least consider using Ninja as a supplement.

    @Alex – I would keep studying for REG, reapply for FAR, and retake it once you take REG. Focus on learning the concepts, not just practicing the MCQ or doing SIMs.

    I used Becker. I read the book and summarized each chapter, and I used those summaries to keep the information fresh in my head. I would try to read 5-10 pages as soon as I wake up and then I would do it again at night. Once I summarized each chapter, I did the MCQs. I used Excel to practice the number MCQs (it's better than using the calculator or scratch paper). If I had trouble learning a concept with the becker material, I would watch a video on youtube about it. However, I also came to terms with the idea that you do not have to know the answer to every question that becker gives you. It gets overwhelming to try to memorize everything, but if you have a strong foundation of the concepts then you will do well. You will have to put in a lot of work to figure it out, but it will be worth it.

    Do not get discouraged, it is not the end of the world if you fail, what really matters is that you approach these tests with the right mindset and the right study technique. Do not stop until you are happy with the work you have put in.

    I hope this helps.

    Oh my God Congrats to everyone who passed. I am so excited for you all. I hope the relief of passing bring you the beginning of a great career journey as a CPAAAAAAA!!!!

    I guess I better get back to study. My test center is closed until further notice, so we were given an option to book at another center or cancel until 12/31. I'm not going to wait until 12/31, but I am still studying until an I can get an opening at a center that is not 5 hours away. 🙁 . I'm studying though. I have some ample time, I'm doing far and I might do reg as well.

    Congrats again Ninja's and keep those fingers crossed for the rest of us. 2020 is our year.
