Anyone not look at their score right away? - Page 2

My Reg score comes out in a few days and I don’t even plan on looking at it. The reason being is that a confirmed failing score will just make me even less motivated to study BEC. So I’m just going to keep studying BEC and take it on the last day of this testing window. Then I’ll take a much needed bit of time off in June to catch my breath. At that point I’ll check my REG and BEC scores together to see which one(s) I need to possibly take again.

Has anyone else ever taken this approach of actually not checking your score? I’m just afraid that a failing REG score will really have me unmotivated to study BEC.

I don't have the self-control to wait. I WANT TO KNOW NOW! I've actually been trying to tell myself that I probably failed – I feel like unexpectedly celebrating that I only have one part left will be easier to adjust to than realizing I'm not almost done.

@oldercandidate21 – have you pondered what you will do if you don't pass? do you think you'll go back to rog or try to start over with a different review course?

I am beyond ready for scores to be out. This wait is exhausting.

    A - 79 expires 4/30/16 need a pass on REG
    B - 78
    F - 80
    R - 83!!! Can live again!

@Jankirchoff: it sounds like we may be sharing the same feeling of irritation. Roger told me “If you study, you will pass”. Well Roger, I studied absolutely everything you told me to and it wasn't adequate. Even if I passed, you need to update your REG course my friend… What was weird about my test was that there were not that many calculations (maybe because I bombed the first two testlets?). Also, I'd say that my MCQs were 50-60% Bus Law, while my TBS were all tax plus a FAR question.

@allaboard: I'll probably just review my Roger notes again if I need a retake. I truly believe that these exams are a luck of the draw. You may get questions on topics you know, and you may get a bunch on the one topic you skimmed over… But I didn't skim over anything with Roger, he just didn't cover in the lectures or text book what I saw on the exam.

Hmm, to chime in, since I've read a number the replies. For my BEC score, I waited until like at 2 in the afternoon and this was WHEN I was unemployed too. So I had ALL morning. Though I was dumb thinking that CA was a NASBA state and I kept refreshing that page. Anywho, I'd say I'm going to wait until after work because same reason, I don't want my nosy coworkers to rush over and ask me. Honestly, I'm going to try my best to never ask for scores unless they tell me.

If I find it annoying when people ask/bug/PERSIST in asking for my score, then I'm pretty sure other find it annoying too. So yeah. Gotta stop that.

While it is frustrating being in a state that does not post the score until 1am, I typically don't wait up for it and don't set an alarm to get up. For FAR, I just happened to wake up around 2am and went ahead and checked my score. For REG, I had full intentions that I failed the exam, came out of it feeling like I would be lucky if I got a 50, so I didn't wake up at all in the middle of the night and went ahead and checked my score, to put myself out of misery and saw that I had passed. Needless to say, it was a pretty solid start to the day. With a score release looming in 2 days, I will probably do the same thing. No alarms, not staying up and will check in the morning. I praise all of you that wait longer than a day to check your score. No way I could do that.

oldercandidate – don't forget there were 12 pretest questions plus 1 pretest sim. chances are many of the questions on those foreign topics may not even be scored.

as for people not looking at scores – some do not. i only take one section per window and time my exams late in the window and close to a release date so i can keep studying in case of a no pass. REG is going to be my toughest section and as another older candidate i am rooting for us on this one!!

i have never been afraid to lookup score before but this on has me anxious. could be my last or will need a retake. i want to pass and be done and my little voice is as conflicted as my conscious mind on this one. my mcq's were not that bad but i did have weak areas, which is always a no-no, and the sims. well let's just say those will be the retake prep's biggest challenge if it comes to that. i have never wanted to see a 75 so bad as for this one. if i get the courage to look i will know soon enough.

You got this monikernc!! After I took the exam and came out I felt miserable but for last couple of days I am like either I passed or fail does not matter. If I pass (a miracle) and if I fail (try harder next time). It will hard to take a fail because never failed any exam in my life (but then CPA is a different animal to tam). I am ready for any score now.
