    Hi – I have my bachelors from Canada (Alberta) and wanted to pursue my CPA. Anybody in the same boat as me?

    – was looking at applying to either Montana or Colorado. Any other suggestions?

    – As for review materials, should I just sign up for Becker? I see others recommend Wiley as well. I think I would need something really comprehensive?

    Also, can anyone share how your experience was flying into a city and writing the exams ie. Did you show up a few days prior or stay later? Look for a seat sale to decide where you wrote ;)?

    Random questions and thoughts, I know but I just really wanted to know that I’m not nuts to go down this road 🙂

    Sigh…I did write FAR and after reading your list of review products, clearly I wasn't prepared enough. I did the Wiley video course and I had a scan of the Wiley books. I think I may opt for that for my retake. I have to tackle this again soon but in interesting news, I am moving to Calgary for work this fall. I'm targeting to write again in Nov and hopefully be better prepared as well….

    @SVSV – I'm sorry to hear you weren't successful on the first attempt, did you at least fly down to Vegas and have some fun after the test? I would suggest Ninja MCQ wholeheartedly for your retake, and possibly Roger or Roger CRAM for your video lectures if you can afford it.

    Calgary is a nice city, where will you be working? Strangely enough, we just left Calgary in July and moved to Fort McMurray. Albertan Nomads lol. Good luck with the move and the studying. I also sat for BEC in August and passed. I am in Masters school and not currently working, so I am able to put a lot of focus and time into studying. I imagine working full time and preparing for these exams is brutal.

    I wrote my test in Portland bc the Vegas dates filled up quick. Portland had a ton of open test times and the flights were cheaper there too. I do need something quick to get me through the material and I was looking at CRAM.
    Did you use the same review for BEC?

    Yes. I also used Ninja Audio for both that I forgot to mention. Good for when you are traveling. I was going to write FAR with 160 hours, but I felt completely unprepared. I delayed it a month and put in 290 hours total. That let me feel comfortable enough to write it. I put in 130 hours for BEC. Most important would be Ninja MCQ, and Roger CRAM is basically for only a week or less before your test. Just embrace the grind, don't rush it, put in the hours and you will get this.

    @son and @SVSV

    I am also a Canadian! I got my undergraduate degree in Toronto.
    You mentioned that now you use NIES to evaluate international diploma and transfer foreign credits to American semester hours?

    I registered with NH over 5 years ago and used FACS https://facsusa.com only, I wonder if my old evaluation was obsolete yet??? or NIES is equivalent to FACS??

    Expired BEC and REG. Now restart again.
