    It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

    @ReckedRacing,

    I started this journey back in 2015. I did some research and ended up choosing Roger CPA Review. Roger is great at lecturing and keeping you engaged. They often have discount coupons that you can receive if you sign up in their website to receive info about then. That being said, when I took the actual exam, Roger's questions did not truly prepared me for the exam. The questions do not measure up to the actual level of difficulty I experienced. Sadly, it took me to times of failing the same exam (BEC) to actually look for supplementing material. I bought the Wiley test bank and the boosted my score to 84. For FAR, I did not get any supplementing material because that is my strongest area, but for everything else, I did get the Wiley test bank and for AUD, I got the Ninja notes since I was short of time.

    As per study tips, I committed to do 2 hours per day of study time (usually during my commute to work). On weekends, I would do up to 4 hours before my brain started to give up.

    My boss sent mine in regular mail. It got there just fine and was scanned into their system within 2 days. However, they weren't able to confirm this until 5 days later. I would agree to give it a week and call 518-474-3817 x 270. I spoke to Thea and she was very helpful.

    My boss waited two weeks to sign for me. I was pissed and that was before I knew it takes so long for the board to complete their review. He was fired four days later. So that was close!

    Now all I do is check nysed.gov daily in the morning and evening to see if I'm listed.

    Good Luck!!

    @Mrspaceace251,

    Oh Wow that was perfect timing for you. Thank you for providing that info! I will use it for sure. I mailed in my two forms last week and I gave my boss the experience verification yesterday with the envelope and stamp. So the fact that yours was processed so fast and was sent regular mail gives me so much hope. How long have you been waiting to get listed?

    They got my 4B 8/24/17. They said 6-8 weeks but from what I'm reading here, it looks like its going to take much longer. I was hoping to have this complete before the end of Sept, but it seems I'm looking at the end of December, if I'm lucky.

    I'll be sure to post any updates/info I get along the way on here.

    Good Luck.

    Thank you. I am hoping to be license by December as well per what I am reading here… But because my 4B just got signed yesterday, I am not sure what is going to happen now.

    @ReckedRacing,

    I saw in another discussion in this forum that you completed your EA exam. Which review course did you use?

    Many thanks!

    I used the Gleim EA review.
    It's very detailed and took quite a long time compared to what others have done/used.
    I was probably over prepared, but all that matters is I passed them all on the first shot.

    Given your review of Roger, I think I will add the Gleim test bank to my review.
    I can't imagine learning the FAR concepts without the aid of Roger's lectures. I am not sure if its because I have been out of school for 15 years, or if my mind is getting weaker in my old age, but grasping the material and staying focused is a struggle.
    Hopefully after the Sept 15th deadline I will be able to concentrate and spend more time on this.
    I am currently scheduled for Nov 9th, but I might bump it until Dec 10th to give me more time with Roger, and then the Gleim test bank.
    I've waited years for this, no sense in rushing into it now.

    I found out I was approved on 8-30, and then spent about 21-24 hours over Labor Day weekend trying to study as much as possible. Probably not the best move on my part. Adjust and try a different approach. Thanks for the info on Roger.

    I just called to check the status of my application. I spoke to a Francine and she stated it takes 3 weeks for them to “process” form 4B, then it's sent to the board and it takes another 14-16 weeks for the board to review it. They received my form on 8/24, which means tomorrow is week three. So I believe their timeframes might be longer than they let on. So basically its a five month wait, which is complete BS.

    Oh well.

    @Mrspaceace251, WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!! This is unacceptable especially in the modern digital age we live in. Does it take this long just because they are understaffed or something? I didn't realize processing papers was such a project.

    AUD - 93
    BEC - 90
    FAR - 86
    REG - 93

    The wait for the test scores seems more stressful than the actual test itself.

    @cleethree I know!!! Effin ridiculous..people need to let them know this is unacceptable!

    FAR=83

    REG=82

    BEC=76

    AUD=80

    FAR-83 (May 2016)

    @ReckedRacing,

    Thank you I will look into Gleim EA review!

    @Mrspaceace251
    ,

    They are very quick in cashing in that check though! I sent form 1 a week ago and the check posted to my bank account yesterday. The lady on the phone told me the same thing. It takes the board up to 16 weeks to process… Not taking into account the time they take to process the forms and send them to the board.

    My application was sent to the Board 6/23 – so it's been 12 weeks. I was quoted 14-16 weeks. So ridiculous. I have friends who got their license in 4 weeks this time last year, I don't know what the huge hold up is. Anyone else nearing the 12-16 week range? any news?

    @MC My application was sent to the board on June 1st and I was quoted the same time frame as well 14-16 weeks. But based the consensus here it's been more 16-18 weeks closer to 18 weeks. I called Monday, Sept 11th to get a status update and asked why does it take so long to get licensed and the exact quote was “In NY we license people from all over the world”. Yeah, I don't believe that's the reason but that's the only thing I can go with.

    My form 4B was received on 8/24, I was quoted 3 weeks for processing. I called on 9/14 and was told it would be 1-2 more weeks, over a month for “processing”. I think they are holding applications back due to the backlog. Looks like 2018 for me, which sucks because I want more money now lol.

    I applied to take the exam under the 15 year rule in May 2016. I received confirmation from NASBA on July 22, 2016 that NYSED approved me to sit for the exam. I got my final passing grade for the exam this week. Does anyone know my application has to go back to the board again for approval once they get my grades? Or is everything processed just waiting for the grades? Thanks
