It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

Has anyone called and heard the date they are processing? I called on 8/10 and she said they were processing applications received on 5/10.

I like your optimism Vand, but as those of us tracking know: They processed 1 application on Aug 14, 7 on Aug 15, 1 on Aug 17, and none so far today.
Before someone calls me out I guess I'll mention that they DID process 35 on Aug 13, but it does seem like they are trending downward. This probably means they they reached their quota earlier or people are on vacation.
If anyone actually knows what's going on, that would be nice.
I am tired of calling and emailing them.

I'm about 90% certain they are currently only processing enough applications to stay within their 3 month backlog, although I think they are falling behind. I would say don't ever expect to have your application approved in less than 3 months. George RR Martin will have the new Game of Thrones book out before your application (or mine) will get approved and processed.

They have not given out any license #'s since Friday, so I would assume it has been a standstill since then. I am tired of calling them. I finally found out that they approved me during their final review but getting the license # is going to be another wait game.

Ugh… just frustrated with this process. I'm tired of calling too which is why I was hoping some one else had called. If no license #'s have been given out since Friday I'm going to guess that the person is on vacation this whole week.

They have only processed two license #'s since Monday. Only 1 today so far…

I wish there wasn't so much mixed feedback. I e-mailed them earlier in the week and they just repeated the date my application was forwarded to the board and told me that the board doesn't notify them of what date they're currently processing.

6 licenses numbers were processed today. Yesterday 1 was processed. I was wrong previously, they processed 1 on Friday last week, not Monday this week.
In total they processed 7 this entire week. WOOT!
Let's hope next week they all have a good weekend and decide to work next week…

Anyone know whether the 12-16 week time frame begins when NYDOE receives all supporting documentation or when the check is cashed?

They cash your check as soon as they receive it, but the “processing period” for the application takes a little longer. They told me it was 3 weeks after receiving the app.

    @Joshki;
    1. They cash the check a few days after they receive the application.
    2. Once the application is received then its review to make sure everything is included. (FYI: If something is missing, your application will just sit around unless you follow up, so send emails to confirm everything has been received)
    3. After they do an initial review everything is then sent to the board for review .

The 12 – 16 weeks begin when the application has been forwarded to the board for review (the timing has been varying for many people).

    FAR - 2/16 - 78
    BEC - 2/16 - 78
    AUD - 8/16
    REG - 8/16
