This may be a long shot, but here it goes…

I mailed my application to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation on March 10th. My postal tracking said it was received on March 11th, which I expected since it was mailed at the post office nearly across the street from the facility. I called today after waiting the 3 weeks and they said they still haven’t received my payment, which I included in the packet and have a photo copy to prove it.

Does anyone have any information on how long this should take? I see others say that their check was cashed within a week of receipt, what should I do?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's really weird. When I sent my packet down it was in the system within 6 business days. Did you send a check? I'd check your bank account just in case. I'd also call again DAILY. When I was waiting for my license I got so many different answers when I called to check on my status.

So I called again this morning and I'm not sure why some things arent explained better to candidates but apparently applications are now started when they receive your scores, even though ILBOA says you should wait a week apparently that is not the case. So I have an application that was “started” on March 4 (the date they received my scores) and they were like, “You didnt pay your fees.” I said, I included a check with the paper application that was required, along with the actual application and the verification of employment. Which was sent and tracked as delivered on March 11 (1 day later since it it right next door).

I have been checking my account daily and the check still hasn't cleared. I don't understand why. Should I waste my time and call them back and ask them when my paper application will be processed?
