As soon as I’m able to, I’m going to apply for the RCPA. Registered CPA license (no experience)

Which takes longer for the ILDPA to process and send the RCPA license : Applying online or applying via the paper application? I’m suspecting both end up collecting dust on the same desk.

@bobkorz I did submit my scores to the IDFPR on the ILBOA website shortly after 4/6. Still nothing. As for ethics score, did you do anything beyond choosing IL as the state to send the score?

    @cpacharlie

AICPA states that it takes up to 3 weeks to transmitt the passing ethics score to the ILBOA. 3 weeks after I took (and passed) my ethics exam, I called ILBOA to confirm the receipt of the score. And, of course, it was NOT received. I had to call AICPA to make them resend. It was almost painless except that AICPA only sends the scores on Fridays.

    FAR 10/04/11 83
    REG 11/29/11 82
    AUD 01/17/12 92
    BEC 02/28/12 87

@cpacharlie : Just ask the AICPA to send the ethics score to the ILBOA. Then when they receive it, then send that information to the ILDPR. Both must have your scores to get the license.

Registered CPA in Illinois as of today.

After passing the ethics course, my score was sent to the ILBOA automatically by the AICPA in mid-March. I started checking the ILBOA website every couple days soon after and I received my certificate number there on 4/6. I used the ILBOA verification request system to send my scores to the IDFPR within a day or two of that. My exam scores were first on file today (4/27) with the IDFPR, so I was able to register. All in all, it took about six weeks to get my scores through the process.

I just feel bad for those people hoping to pass their last parts of the exam during the April/May window. I don't know if they're going to be able to meet the 6/30 deadline, if it takes six weeks to process the scores.

@cpacharlie and everyone else: i mentioned this in a separate thread, but if you took your test on May 31st, you'll find out your score on June 8th. As long as you have your ethics done, ILBOA will be processing scores and giving you a certificate number FOUR times in June, rather than the usual 2 times. When ILBOA gives you your #, it means they've sent it to IDFPR. IDFPR may take a while to process your information, therefore, you may not be able to register online, but you can STILL REGISTER BY PAPER!!

I have been emailing back and forth with the director of ILBOA, and he said that as long as you can get your RCPA app postmarked by 6/30/12, you should be fine. Even if you don't have your Certificate # on the ilboa website but you KNOW you passed all 4 exams AND you took the ethics test, I'd mail in the RCPA app JUST IN CASE!

This is my timeline so far: Last test taken May 15th, Ethics test taken May 15th. Found out score May 23rd. Was issued a certificate # on May 29th. From what my friend's timeline was, it took 3 weeks for idfpr to process info so that she could register online. My plan is to check June 25th. If I'm still not able to register online, I'm sending in the paper application. Hope this helps.

But again, do not lose hope if you find out your score June 8th! It only took me SIX DAYS to get my certificate #. So you may get your certificate number by like June 15th, which gives you ample time to fill out a paper application and send it in.

    FAR - 96 (1/25/12)
    BEC - 89 (2/27/12)
    AUD - 97 (4/09/12)
    REG - 90 (5/15/12)
    Done!!!

I recommend registering online. If you have not received your ability to register on ILDPR's website for a RCPA by June 30, THEN mail it in that last day.

I believe my firm fills out the paper applications on employee's behalf, is this even necessary or is that applicaiton a pain in the ass?

Don't mail it in until 6/30. And ONLY if ILDPR does not let you register online. It is better to get the license# online.

Don't take the risk that the US Mail loses your mail. Especially here in IL.

ILDPR had my info today and it took five minutes to register. I found out my last exam score on 6/8 and passed ethics on 6/12 so for once IBOE moved fast. Just glad I waited to register online instead of mailing in application right away. Hopefully everyone else here will be able to register online.

Same thing as cra1068. Found out my last passing score on 5/28, received my certification on 6/11. Just registered online on the IDFPR website and was issued a temporary license certificate.

HIGHLY suggest doing this all online. Took me less than 5 minutes.

Kudos to the Board of Examiners and IDFPR to get this done quickly before the deadline.

    GAME OVER.

If you haven't applied online or had your application postmarked by yesterday, the RCPA door is closed to you.

However, if you have work experience, you can be a fully licensed CPA by applying online or by mail.

Those of you that applied in late June, either paper or online, has your registration gone through yet? I mailed a paper application on June 28 but the check hasn't been deposited yet.
