    Hello All,

I have cleared my CPA exams in 2018. I moved to COlorado State which requires me to get GAAS credits for applying for my license. Can anyone please help me find the correct institution for the same?

    Thanks

    Hello Monikern,

Can you please tell me whether I need to take two auditing class or one .
A study of generally accepted auditing standards. Specific focus is placed on concepts of the auditing function for financial audits, professional standards that guide audit performance, and processes and formal procedures used to plan, perform, and complete an audit. Prer., ACCT 3010, ACCT 3020, and ACCT 3110 with a grade of “C-” or better, or equivalent coursework; MSA, MBA, or graduate Accounting Certificate students only. Meets with ACCT 4600. I took this class Springs 2021 for my GAAS deficient classes. But my University in Colorado Springs says I need to take 2 classes, one above and other one below ACCT 6620

Study of advanced theoretical and practical issues in auditing. Specific focus is placed on the application of auditing resources commonly used in practice. The course emphasizes case analysis, research, individual and team presentations, and classroom discussion. Prer., ACCT 4600 or ACCT 6600. Meets with ACCT 4620. Graduate business students only.

I have been instructed to complete both the courses above.

I am yet to give the Ethics Exams .
Do you suggest I should apply for the license ? or wait for the completing of Ethics Exam before applying for the license.

    Can you please guide ?
    Thanks

I don't know because I decided not to conform to CO licensing requirements. I went with Montana first and then applied to CO. I couldn't figure out a way to get that CO Audit class without enrolling in a CO college and didn't want that expense.

NASBA handles the licensing for CO – reach out to them. They will know for sure. So will the CO Board of Accountancy.

Go to NASBA Licensing for CO. I can't post a link to it on here but you are smart and can find it. The education requirements are clearly stated. 6 hours of auditing with 3 hours being US GAAS. You also need 3 hours of accounting ethics. I have no idea where to get those. So, again, I got licensed in Montana first, then applied back through NASBA for a Colorado license. Took extra time and some money but a lot cheaper than paying for those courses.

The ethics exam is different than the ethics education requirement. Colorado requires both a 3 semester hour class in ethics as an education requirement. It also requires the AICPA Professional Ethics exam plus the Colorado Rules and Regs class.
