You went through NASBA? NASBA reviewed my education, experience and exam scores and submitted to CO Board with recommendation to approve. The board needs the packet from NASBA at least two weeks in advance of their monthly meeting to put you on the agenda. They don’t put names on the posted agenda so you won’t know when your application is being considered. They have a total lunatic that responds to emails and he/she won’t tell you anything and no one answers the phone. Good luck!🍀

The NASBA CO contact was somewhat responsive. It takes them a few weeks if everything is in order.

    Hello Nikki,

I want to apply for the license in Colorado State, When I submitted my application they asked for GAAS credits. Can you help me find an institution where I can get these credits without enrolling myself in any courses. I just need the credits to be sent to NASBA.
Hope you receive your license soon.
    Many Thanks

No I cannot and for that reason I got licensed in Montana first through NASBA then applied through NASBA to CO. Montana is a great state to work with. It takes a couple of extra months and additional cost but cheaper and faster than taking more classes.

    Thank you!
Yes I did apply through NASBA. Submitted all my documents within the second week of July.
Should I be expecting an email from NASBA, that have submitted the packet to the Colorado Board? Could you tell me what the timeline is like?
I’m eager to know when all this will come through.

    Thank you for your help!

Nikki, my app processed through NASBA right after the shutdown last year and it took about a month before they sent it to CO BOARD. Then the board had to meet to review/approve all the NASBA candidates. That took another month. I did not have to provide anything else to NASBA after my initial submission of all my info. They were not very responsive because they were just starting their work from home. I think it got better. Good luck!🍀

Thank you for sharing your experience!

Quick question- Did NASBA inform you before sending in your application to the Board Meeting? Was wondering whether I should be expecting some sort of correspondence from NASBA.

Congratulations on getting your license! 🎉

Yes, you will get crazy emails from NASBA as your app go through their processing. It is all a bit difficult to follow especially once CO has it because they redact your name. NASBA CO will respond to your inquiries so watch for emails and ask NASBA questions. Check the CO Board’s meeting dates. NASBA has to submit your application to CO Board at least two weeks in advance of the meeting for you to be on agenda. Mine was a couple of days late so I had to wait the extra month. I urge you to join the CO Society of CPAs. I have had wonderful networking experiences through the society. I am north of Denver. Where are you?
