    Question:

How are they? I’m planning to take Auditing in order to be licensed in NY as well

Does NY Board accept Auditing from LSU Online (they should as it’s an upper-level class…starts with 3 and LSU is regionally accredited).

I’m really having so much trouble with the NY Board (California gave my foreign degree 172 credits while NY gave 120) that I’m taking nothing for granted.

Troy University offers most all classes online. I am taking a tax class this summer to finish out the AL license requirements. I have never taken one online but it is my alma mater and a good school. The proctor options include using a service that proctors you through the webcam on your computer. May be an option for you. http://www.troy.edu

I recently graduated with my BS in BusAdmin, after returning to school as an adult. I would like to take some more accounting classes, so I have enough to sit for the CPA. Before I even get a master's degree, I need some upper level Accounting classes. I am thinking about signing up for classes at LSU, since they are inexpensive and can work around my schedule. Has anyone done the certificate in accounting from LSU? I need all those classes anyway to get to my 24 hours in accounting. What do employers think about the certificate?

I need 9 credits in order to get my CPA in FL.

I requested some information to LSU, and everything seems ok, but the “proctor” thing I don't think will work for me. They have only 2 approved in FL, one is in the University of Miami which might work for me, but one of the classes has 3 exams, that means that I will have to coordinate at work to be able to take an exam?!?!

I have taken online courses before and have submitted all my assignments and exams online. I will look for more information.

    Done 😉

    Got some info.

They offer 2 programs: LSU Online and LSU IDL (Independent and Distance Leaning). Thru LSU Online you take the exams online by ProctorU. If you enroll on LSU IDL you will have to take the exams at the approved proctor location.

The dowsize LSU Online is only offering 10 courses at this time, expanding soon. Fortunately, 2 of the courses that I need are available.

I signed up for ACCT 2001.

According to their information booklet (https://is.lsu.edu/newDOCE/PDF/CURRENT_IDL_booklet.pdf), you can use a previously approved proctor, or use a testing center at a locally accredited college or even an ALA accredited librarian.

My alma mater will provide free proctoring services for me.

@Marivy22, what classes are you taking?

    @dburris34

    I need to take

    ACCT3222 – LSU IDL

    ACCT3201 – on hold

    ACCT3021 – LSU Online

I think I am going to wait until at least 2 are under the LSU Online program. Let us know how it goes…
