How do you all study for COSO/ERM/IT? I have done every corporate governance and and almost every IT question in Ninja (and Wiley). I am average around a 90 for both yet still feel I do not really have a great grasp on the material (corporate governance more so than IT, as IT at least has more objective answers). Hammering more MCQ’s is not really effective as there are not that many COSO questions and for the most part I remember the answers (even down to if it A/B/C/D, and not actually even needing to read the answers). I have lower averages (in the upper 80’s) for all other topics even though I feel I have a more solid grasp in those topics (computations are easier to get wrong even if you know how to solve). I also am worried that these questions are not as difficult as on the actual exam as some of the answers are just very obvious with out actually understanding COSO/ERM. Does anyone have any suggestions or are these questions representative of the actual test?

This was my least favorite part of the entire exam, because COSO was almost all arbitrary non-sense. I felt the same way, but if you're getting the questions right, you're getting it. The problem with COSO, and, to some extent, IT, is that there really isn't a consistent concept behind a lot of it. I don't think we got tested on much ERM when I took it, so I can;t comment…

But yeah, COSO was THE WORST, and I thought Becker stunk at teaching it. It was also my last test, and I was somewhat burned out by then, and just didn't study as hard.

I profit from your CPE frustration. You're welcome.

Agreed with Aaronmo, it's hard to make sense of this topic. That's where you have to lean on your “business acumen” and make an educated guess. I was actually scoring in the 70s during my practice so you may been on track to perform well on the actual exam. One tip: time management. Remember to leave time for not only to TBS but the writing section which will be easy points if completed.
