    Really don't understand how people keep saying BEC is easy. It has a TON of material & lots to understand & memorize.

    I read all the chapters 1 time & took minimal notes about it all & am getting 30-40% right.

    Seems the only way to pass these tests, for me at least is to read the material at least 3 times & take highly detailed notes & lots of memorizing. Really not in the mood to do all that, but have no choice =/

    Good luck to every1

    win2betmore: As a general rule, the people who call BEC the “easy” exam are the people who haven't taken it yet and haven't started to study for it. They see the higher pass rate and confuse that with being “easy.”

    Those of us who have taken the exam or started to study BEC know better. When I hit B2 I, quickly, realized it wasn't the “easy” exam everyone made it out to be. The best thing to do is recoginze this early on and study accordingly.

    Good luck!

    Can someone please tell me if BEC has any mathematical computation MCQ's? I'm using Becker and they said the exam is all conceptual yet most of the homework MCQ's are computations so I may have misunderstood them.

    @ArkansasCPA yes there will be math computations. My strategy to save time was to work through the theory questions and very simple math problems in each testlet first, and flag the longer more complicated ones to come back to. You'll want time at the end to write a decent amount for each essay (they were simple, but the more you can expand upon the better).

    @ArkansasCPASumDay

    In Becker, I recall them telling you for specific sections you most likely won't have to do calculations, not all of them. I feel there would be limited questions the AICPA could ask on variances, for example, that would not include a calculation of some sort. Best to learn everything and not skip it because you never know what you're going to get.

    May 15th is D-Day for me. I'm not under-estimating this one. Shooting for another 75+!

    @Crunchtime: It is alright. I still have to do Chapters 1 and 2 for the second time. I worked on the NINJA IT questions earlier today and I am averaging in the low 70s. They questions are much harder 😐 My exam is on May 23rd, I was going to schedule it the end of May so that I don't have to wait that long for score release but my birthday is on May 25th so I don't want to deal with this exam that week, I don't know if I will be ready by next Saturday.

    Just curious, how much time is everyone else allowing to study BEC? I have my study plan set up for 6 weeks which is the least amount of time I have allowed for any of the other exams. I normally study at least 21/2 months. I work full time sand normally study 20-25 hours a week. I just found out that I failed FAR for the 2nd time in April and I have to pass both FAR and BEC by October 18th or I lose my Audit score. I have my exam scheduled for May 29th. I took a couple days off of work this week so I can complete chapters 4 & 5. That will leave me only chapter 6 then I can review. I am doing progress exams each week to keep the previous chapters fresh on my mind and IF I take the exam May 29th, I'm going to take the last week of May off work to review. Any suggestions? Am I setting myself up to fail by trying to get this done in 6 weeks?

    6 weeks is more than enough for BEC. I started studying around April 30th and will sit May 26th. I've passed BEC before so I am somewhat familiar with the material but if you are putting in your 25 per week you will be just fine. You could probably pass with half the time you are allotting for your prep.

    @CPA50 Oh Wow! We sure do! I don't know why I'm having such a hard time with FAR! I seriously think it's because I find it difficult so I let it stress me out. Both times I have taken FAR I was so stressed when on the day of the exam I had a terrible headache!

    I want to get BEC out of the way so I can totally focus on FAR and retake it in July or August…………….probably August. I feel like I need to over study and maybe that will build my confidence back up!
