    Hi!

I need a recommendation: I'm currently scoring in the high 80's on Ninja and Becker MCQ's – should I continue to do MCQ's or go through my own flashcards (mainly formulas)? test is Tomorrow!

    Thanks!

What I did was I took that post(link I posted on page 5?) and made flash cards for all the formulas. I memorized them and then the day of the test, I showed up early and sat in my car until I had all of them committed to short term memory. It was a life saver.

I can't figure out the logic behind this question I need see help. Question is from becker

What is the effect when a foreign competitors becomes weaker compared to the us dollar?

The anwser is: foreign company will have adv in us market.

I can't wrap my head around this because I'm thinking that they'd be at a disadvantage as us goods would not be more expensive for them to purchase But the explanations says the item would be cheaper in us $

    Anyone care to assist ?

    @notbuds

Lets assume that the foreign competitor is a Polish Company. Polish currency is zl. So originally if 1$ = 4zl.

Now that its currency has become weaker, it is 1$ = 5zl

If the Polish Company sells its product in the US market. Its goods will become cheaper in the US. Say for instance each unit of its goods were priced at 1 zl p.u. Initially you could buy 4 units in 1$, after its currency became weaker, you can buy 5 units in 1$. So effectively its goods become cheaper in the US. The demand curve illustrates that as goods become cheaper, their demand increases. Ultimately the demand for those polish goods will increase, which will be an advantage for the Polish firm.

    I hope this helps.

i am going through Absorptions vs. Variable approach and Becker states there is only one difference which Fixed factory overhead? But what about Variable SG&A. It seems like period cost in absorption approach and product cost in the contribution approach since it subtracted to get to contribution margin. Did i miss something here?

    thanks in advance.

Retook BEC today. The first testlet was similar to Ninja MCQ (thanks Jeff) but the the second testlet was WTF! 3rd testlet seemed easier. Idk what to make of it. I hope I passed! Can't stress about it that's why I scheduled the test a day before I go to Mexico for a wedding. Pretty sure the sun and the drinks will make me feel better. Feels Like I learned so much I wasn't even tested on! BEC is such a CPA junk drawer.

I was scheduled for BEC this Saturday, but rescheduled it to next month because I'm not ready. With my current situation, looking for a job is a higher priority than studying for BEC. I am using Wiley and Ninja MCQ.

    Hello fellow Ninja's,

I just gave my 3rd attempt of AUD yesterday. Taking break for couple days, and then moving to prepare for BEC. I hope that I pass AUD this time. It is so difficult to know or even determine.

What is the timeline of preparation, and review I should keep for BEC? Is it 6 weeks or 8 weeks. This is my first time with new subject, and have not been in touch with Econ, and Cost Acc. for a while. For BEC am using Gleim to prepare with. Gleim has 20 chapters. My NTS expires on August 31. Any helpful guidance with prep and budgeted time will be really good start to develop my study plan.

    FAR: 53, 48, XX (retake 6/16)

I did BEC comfortably in 4 weeks when other sections require 8 weeks. I feel like this stuff came back to me faster. Also, I have a good knowledge of IT so that helped.

I prepped for BEC in 5 weeks (took AUD 2/26, took BEC 4/4). Wasn't that bad. I hadn't done any cost accounting in more than 10 years. The key is practicing with the MCQs. More than memorizing formulas, getting repeated practice with solving the problems will really help.

can someone help me with variances? i watched this video > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt2X6OOXBdc&feature=player_embedded and it seemed to breakdown everything a little better, but is that table only for overhead variances (VOH/FOH)? Also it seems that you only use 2 of the 3 columns to solve? where as materials / labor i can use the PURE DADS nemonic, which also sometimes doesn't work properly. Im mostly concerned about being able to compute simpler variances that the test will most likely have, i heard some members talk about a woman who taught yaeger and broke it down nicely, but i couldn't find any videos.. thanks!

It is finally hitting me that my 18 months is coming to a close and I am terrified to schedule my BEC exam. If I don't pass this quarter then I will only have one chance left to pass it (not to mention it will be my fourth time.) I have been weak in Econ both times I have taken it but thought I felt strong in it while studying Becker. I am using Ninja books and rewriting the notes right now but feel like I am going too slowly to take the exam at the beginning of May. Any advice on how long it should take? I am really ready for this to be my last exam. My life feels like it is moving on without me.

Good luck to everyone taking it this week! Fingers crossed and I'll be praying for ya!
