AnonymousInactiveI agree with MJ…honestly, jenni I'm going to stick to the method that I stated above. I don't even think I will have enough time to get through all the Becker questions by exam day. Also, I have looked at people's trending/actual grade (via the link at the top of the forum) and people usually get 74-80 on the actual exam. Also, compared to the other topics I have seen bec is used less for ninja. Maybe they just didn't post their stats I don't know. Not to knock on ninja I love it as a supplement I have used it for both far and aud that way. I think it's great. However, for bec it is killing my confidence and I think it's hurting more than helping. I also looked at the link of BEC exam using Becker only and people's actual are much higher. for the WC, I will listen to the intro section Becker has on it and look at some of the examples. Their is also a good grammar review in the beginning of the bec textbook I'm going to look over. With everyone texting/using slang my grammar has taken a dive lol

jennibfoxMemberGREAT. Lets just work as hard as we can up until the point. I am going to cover as much ground as possible in the next 3 days. Thanks everyone for your input.

AnonymousInactivealso, after I finished studying last night I shut down my computer and exited Becker. I came back in today and created a new progress test with the same 1,360 questions and they are all out of order!! oh well, I wonder if their is a way I can pull up yesterday's progress test and start from where I left off. But it doesn't matter now because I'm not going to exit this new progress test to find out. I'm just not going to exit out of Becker until Friday lol

fightingforsanityMember@cpa8488 There is. When selecting which chapters you want for your progress tests, if you look at the top, click on “saved test” and then select which of the past exams you want. I've always ran out of time to actually do all of the MC for the sections I've taken so far so I usually just exit out and read through the MC explanations. It hasn't failed me yet so hopefully it'll work in my favor this one last time. Good luck guys!

AnonymousInactiveI figured that after I typed my comment on here. Oh well I've already passed the number of questions I did yesterday. So I will keep going with this progress test. Maybe I will shut down my computer after and log back in tomorrow under “saved tests”. Thank you again for the idea of doing it this way. I never used the profess test feature because I always hated waiting to find out if I was right or wrong. Glad it has worked for you I hope it works for me too! And everyone else in this quarter. I figured if I get through 500 today and 500 tomorrow that leaves me with about 300 Friday morning 🙂 back to mcq I gooo 🙂

fightingforsanityMemberI think highlight was the one to mention it but it's definitely a good way to review when you're in a time crunch. I hope it works for you too! That sounds like a good plan! You got this! Keep at it 🙂

AnonymousInactivewhy doesn't CM per unit change with volume?
February 25, 2015 at 7:23 pm #655972
fightingforsanityMemberBecause it's the difference between the Sales Price per unit and VC per unit, which both stay the same. For instance, If I'm selling something for $5 and it cost me $3 to make, the CM per unit will always be $2, whether I sell 10 units or just 1 unit. I will always have a CM of $2 per unit. Now, the total CM would be different though in that scenario ($20 vs. $2) but not the CM per unit. I hope this helps.

AnonymousInactiveis it just me or are these questions in B2 a little ridiculous?? I mean really 4-5 steps to solve the problem!
February 25, 2015 at 9:04 pm #655974
AnonymousInactive@aspiringcpa2014: Yes, those questions are ridiculous. But if you can do them, you'll be ready for anything the exam can throw at you. The Becker lecturer's say you won't find anything that complicated or difficult on the actual exam but you still need to understand the concepts and how to do all of the calculations. Rest assured though, on exam day, it's unlikely you will see anything that complicated.
And like I keep saying. B1, B2, B3 are where you will spend most of your time. Everything else is conceptual so once you know it, you're good.
February 25, 2015 at 10:18 pm #655975
AnonymousInactiveI'm just going to pray for a conceptual exam lol. I wonder if it's true that if you get more calculations means your testlets are getting harder? I hate variances!! Even though the CSO says strategic planning is worth only 10-14% I still hate variances. Even when I have the forumla memorized. It's hard for me to choose the relevant numbers to plug into the formula.

jennibfoxMembercpa8488 — Me too. I am just trying to gain as much information as possible in the next few days. We can only do what we can do. The only thing I noticed is that the progress test goes by the full chapter. I am skipping around in it to hit all the subjects. Hope your studying goes well tonight.

highlightnumbParticipantHey beautiful people I have a question where I'm looking for some clarification below: Is the 10k the opportunity cost because its lower amount or because it wasn't selected?
Jones Corp. had an opportunity to use its capacity to produce an extra 5,000 units with a contribution margin of $5 per unit, or to rent out the space for $10,000. What was the opportunity cost of using the capacity?
a.
$35,000
b.
$25,000
c.
$10,000
d.
$15,000
Explanation
Choice “c” is correct. The opportunity cost is $10,000, the value of the next best use of the space. The alternative selected carries a contribution margin of $25,000 and the next best use is renting the space for $10,000.
Choice “a” is incorrect. The opportunity cost is not the combined value of the alternative selected and the next best use.
Choice “b” is incorrect. The opportunity cost is the next best use of the productive capacity ($10,000), not the best use of the capacity ($25,000).
Choice “d” is incorrect. The opportunity cost the next best use of the productive capacity ($10,000), not the difference between the best and next best alternatives ($25,000 – $10,000).

AnonymousInactiveWasn't selected. Opportunity cost is the cost of the opportunity you chose NOT to go with.
