highlightnumbParticipant@future taking bec in 2 days and I cant wait. Im so pumped to get it out of the way so I can move on to my last exam which is Audit. I feel pretty good with those topics you fired off but I am definitely going to keep plugging away.
As far as Reg goes you already understand that the tax portion goes without saying, but here is some rapid fire of unsung heroes:
know all your filing due dates and I dont just mean the obvious ones, again make sure you know your dates
know the IRS time statute of limitations
know all your tax positions, disclosed/undisclosed etc.
Everything your instructors told you will be heavenly tested, will be heavenly tested
Good Luck!

highlightnumbParticipantDid you guys know that NPV method assumes that Positive cash flows are reinvested at the hurdle rate which means that it accounts for COMPOUNDING of returns?

fightingforsanityMemberAnd IRR assumes that it's reinvested at the IRR rate, which is unreasonable and makes it inferior to NPV. It's unreasonable because if the IRR is unrealistically high/low, then assumed returns on reinvested CFs based on those IRR rates could lead to inappropriate conclusions (just a tid bit via Becker).

highlightnumbParticipantMake sure to use Marginal tax rate when calculating a firms annual depreciation expense on an asset.
Marginal tax rate x Depreciation amount = Annual Depreciation expense
This is part of the formula when calculating future cash flows on a capital investment

highlightnumbParticipantso my bank told me that in order for me to get approved for a loan that my quick ratio needs to be at least .1 and my portfolio current says that my ratio is .8. So i decided that the best way for me to increase my ratio is to sell off some old inventory that i have at loss. Of course the sell of the inventory nor the loss would affect my current ratio but getting the cash from the sale certainly would. Guess what, my ratio went up and now I can get a loan to buy some gold teeth. Isnt that crazy!!!

AnonymousInactiveStarting to get discouraged working these computational problems in the Ninja MCQ. I've actually been trying to hammer away at them for the past couple days but getting the vast majority wrong (a lot of the time not even knowing where to start) with so many to cover is starting to make me think I'd be better off relaxing a little and just making sure I have Gov, IT, and the basic formulas down pat. Unfortunately I can easily say this will be the exam I go into feeling least comfortable with its material.
Edit: Also is there a general consensus as to the difficulty of the Ninja MCQs compared to the actual test, particularly the computational ones? If I didn't know better I'd say some of these problems are a slight bit on the unreasonably difficulty side given it's a timed test. Like, some of these questions I think I'd rather take a quick glance to see if I know it or if not just guess immediately rather then spend 2-3 minutes trying to work it out, likely ultimately to futility.

AnonymousInactive@futureninja did you have a mostly conceptual or computational exam? Any really long computations on their? U got this the second time around!

AnonymousInactive@aspiring I totally agree. Ninja was killing my confidence so I'm doing something different. Scroll up this page and see what I'm doing.
