@cpa8488 — I recommend using both banks interchangeably. I just finished BEC as my 4th and final section and I can promise you I couldn't have passed it without both my CPAExcel + Ninja questions. I saw questions while studying Ninja that CPAExcel never even touched on. I only used Ninja MCQ for AUD & BEC and can absolutely say Ninja's MCQs are more difficult.

Congrats on passing Bobcat87. And thanks for the advice! I know both are very different test banks so I want to devote time to both. Without rushing out of time lol

Pracpa…sounds like a question direct from the exam

    AUD - July 2014 - 76
    REG - August 2014 - 82
    FAR - November 2014 - 78
    BEC - January 2015 - 81

    DONE!!!!

Used Becker online. Who needs a text when you can burn your eyes out staring at the screen for months on end?

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you're hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

I feel the same way cpa8488. It took me 1hr and 37min to answer 20 questions. It indeed will be a long day 🙁

Why did people tell me that BEC was going to be the easy test????

@CPA Title in 2015 : I think others say it's the easiest because it tends to have the higher pass rates. I take the exam tomorrow as long as the weather holds up & it was already canceled on me before. Fingers crossed

    BEC - 80
    REG - 77
    AUD - 7/14
    FAR - 8/30

Good luck Mdeganis. Hopefully we'll both get some good news on February 24.

CPA Title in 2015: This is exactly what I warned about. BEC is not the “easy” section. There is no such thing as an “easy” section. Don't take the section lightly and make sure you fully understand the material. I spent nearly as much time on BEC as I did on FAR myself.

With that being said, the first 3 chapters are the worst and most time consuming. You get through those chapters and it speeds up considerably. The first 3 chapters are very calculation heavy. The last 3 chapters are very concept heavy.

Thats the same with me, unless I go thru the questions really haphazardly, they take me around an hour plus to do 20 questions. I could do REG question much faster for some reason.

Question, In regards to NPV questions, if they are asking for an ‘After tax Net present value, and the question gives a salvage value amount on the proposed investment at the end of the term or a net sales amount from disposal of the item (net of carrying amount) should we be deducting the income tax from this amount in calculating its NPV?

I know the Cash flows are taxed, and the depreciation expense has its tax shield affect, but on this above point im confused?

cdwofl: You, absolutely, want to figure out the after-tax effects of the salvage as it relates to a cash flow.

I can't remember if it was Ninja or if it was Becker but one of them had a question like this:

A company has an asset on the books at $3,000. They sell it for $10,000 and have a marginal tax rate of 40%. What is the cash flow from this transaction.

I want to say it was NINJA and the trick to the question was to figure out the gain or loss on the sale because that will either be a tax shield (if a loss) or require the payment of taxes (if a gain).
