I think with BEC, supplementing your studies with a variety of materials is important, probably more so than for the other exams…

I agree Casagarber… I'm doing Becker now and these problems are SO LONG. It's impossible to complete in 1-2 minutes even if you knew the material. I think it's more stressful then helpful for the exam. I am definitely going to supplement with ninja mcq. But I hear those are long as well lol

Definitely supplement with NINJA. Unlike FAR, there isn't as much overlap between the test pools so you'll see a much more wide range of questions on topics using the two.

Some of the formulas in NINJA are just as bad as Becker in terms of length and complexity. But NINJA also skews more heavily towards conceptual questions. Based on people's experiences (if you go back a few pages), it sounds like the current BEC exam is very conceptual and not very formula heavy. There still are formulas but people have made it sound that conceptual questions make up the bulk of the exam.

I am planning on re-taking( first try 72) BEC 2Q 2015 my Becker expired and I was planning on re-reading the book and getting the MC from here or Wiley. However I have been reading a lot of your comments and it seems that BEC for 2015 had a lot of changes.

Would you guys recommend investing in a new/updated BEC book(or lecture) ?

    Thanks!

The use of ABC normally results in: substantially greater unit costs for low-volume products than is reported by traditional product costing. I thought it was the opposite… substantially lower unit costs for low-volume products than is reported by traditional product costing. Can someone explain?

@cpa8488, I tried to remember that ABC uses more cost drivers and more cost pools than traditional costing system. As a result, ABC provides more accurate costing when compared to the traditional costing system.

Honestly not too sure, but sounds like it has something to do with total fixed costs

    AUD - July 2014 - 76
    REG - August 2014 - 82
    FAR - November 2014 - 78
    BEC - January 2015 - 81

    DONE!!!!

Used Becker online. Who needs a text when you can burn your eyes out staring at the screen for months on end?

It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you're hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

@or_cpa that makes sense. Also, ABC cost more than traditional. So maybe the added cost of ABC adds cost to the units. If that even makes any sense.

Normally I don't do any studying the day before the exam, but my supervisor told me to take the day off to study so that's exactly what I've been doing. Went through B5 and working on B6 again. I'll revisit some of the key finance formulas a bit later too.

I'm ready to put this behind me one way or the other.

Yeah, I just want to look over some formulas a bit later but I'm done for now.

Normally I just relax the day before an exam figuring that I either know it or I don't at this point. But my boss told me to work from home, sign in, be available in case anyone needs me, but otherwise just spend the day studying. So out of respect to her, I used today to really hammer home some stuff I hadn't spent as much time with.
