Joining the group! I hope this will be my last section and knock it down by end of February.

Man last week kicked my butt. Mandatory overtime and I was fighting off a cold. That meant I got very little studying done so now I'm having to make up for that today. Just spent the last two hours going through some cost accounting stuff. I need a break and when I get back, I'll probably hit NINJA up for some overall review.

Anyone else taking the MCQ challenge this weekend? I just did a set of 50 and I'm already exhausted. Not a good sign!

I'm at 90 NINJA MCQ and over 100 from Becker (I really needed to review a Cost Accounting subtopic and I'm glad I did). Not sure I'll hit 500 by Monday night though.

I like to do the 30 question blocks in NINJA. Then I walk away for a few minutes before coming back.

Should I practice the written communication in each topic or should I save do it at the end of the review just to get a feel for it? Also, will there be some kind of reference (like AL) in the actual exam where you can find information on what you are supposed to write? Any tip on how to tackle written communication will be appreciated.

CPAby2015: The common sentiment is that by studying the MCQ and concepts, you're also studying for the written portion of the exam. Also, from my understanding, writing a good memo is much more important than actually answering the question correctly. For example, I would get nearly all points if I said that IRR stood for Interstate Roadside Reptiles so long as the memo was written properly and used good grammar.

So my plan is to just take a small bit of time to review the Becker section on the written portion but other than that I'm not really worrying about it. I hope it's not hubris but I always felt comfortable writing business style memos so I'm not overly worried.

    Ugh…

Did two sets of 30 NINJA MCQ. First set I get 29 correct. Second set I get 20 correct. Sigh…

Just curious..in your final week, how many progress tests do you do a day, and how many questions?

    AUD - July 2014 - 76
    REG - August 2014 - 82
    FAR - November 2014 - 78
    BEC - January 2015 - 81

    DONE!!!!

Used Becker online. Who needs a text when you can burn your eyes out staring at the screen for months on end?

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you're hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

Personally I don't do Progress tests ever. When working MCQ, if I miss a question, I want to know right then and there that I missed the question, what the correct answer is and why my answer was wrong.

During the last week it's just a matter of hitting MCQ a few more times and focusing on my weak areas. I also do zero studying the day before and the day of the exam. I either know the material by that point or I don't. If I do know it, I don't want to confuse myself. If I don't know it, it's unlikely that I'm going to pick up on that so late in the game.

Just came back from the exam. I wanted to share my experience as others have been very gracious to give us feedback, which I appreciate.

My exam experience was like previous members. Questions were TOO random. All over the place, if you will. The first testlate was mixed, second was brutal, the last one was kinda ok.

There was no particular topic that stood out. Had few IT qns, TONS of cost accounting, COSO,WACC and it's siblings, ratios.

WC-2 questions made sense, had no idea on the last one, so BS'd through it. Overall, not sure how I did, waiting game begins for a month 🙁

Good luck studying, and study EVERYTHING.
