Ron, I can see why the question is a bit tricky.

Right off the bat we can eliminate B and C. Those are both activities that we would want to do as the currency falls. We're converting the currency to a more tangible form.

So it comes down to A and D. I'd say the reason A is correct is because we don't want Receivables in a period of declining currency value. In simple terms it's like making a sale for $100 but only getting $90 3 months later. That's something we want to avoid. That's why it's A.

    Thanks for your reply.

I don't quite understand why B and C are incorrect.

I think I'm confused about where the transactions are happening. Is the foreign subsidiary purchasing from the domestic country or the other way around?

    REG (7/14): 82
    FAR (11/14): 81
    BEC (1/15): 83

@Rachel525: This is not so much a math question as it is a concept question. In fact, there's no need to solve for any of the amounts in the answer choices. The way you have to look at it is that there are only a few things that a supervisor can control, one of which is the efficiency of his workers in the production process. So let's break down the answer choices in layman's terms, starting from wrong to right:

B – units per pound. Can he control how many units are produced from a pound of materials? No. This one is out.

C – units per dollar input. This is calculated by multiplying 300 hours * 15/hour = $4,500. 1,500 units/$4,500 = 0.3333 units per input hour. I would say this is a close second answer choice, but you really cannot control the cost of labor hours ($15/hr) so this would not be the best answer choice. This one is out.

D – $15 per labor hour. As I said for answer C, you can't control the price of labor. This one is out.

Which leaves us with A. Can you control how many units are produced in an hour? Yes. The more efficient you are, the more units you'll produce and vise versa. Therefore, this is the correct answer.

I know this isn't the Becker text book answer, but hopefully this helped! Sometimes breaking it down by process of elimination is the way to go.

    Thanks Bobcat

I'm just doing some light writing practice now. I was busy at work today so didn't get much practice in. Traditionally I have crammed to the last minute. This time I have a different approach and am taking it easy the day before. I have two meetings in the morning and take the exam in the afternnoon. I'm hoping for the best.

    Thanks for your support.

So here we go…about 2 1/2 weeks out and starting to feel the nerves. What worries me the most is people who say there were many things on the exam they didn't see in their study material

    AUD - July 2014 - 76
    REG - August 2014 - 82
    FAR - November 2014 - 78
    BEC - January 2015 - 81

    DONE!!!!

Used Becker online. Who needs a text when you can burn your eyes out staring at the screen for months on end?

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you're hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

Similar to your experience bobcat. A few too many coin flips. Writing portion was super random. Didn't see that coming.

Anyone else use CPAExcel and feel that it is completely useless for preparing for the NINJA questions for BEC? I can't find much reference to a lot of the MCQs in Financial Management in CPAExcel which has me worried.

    A - 84
    R - 81
    B - 77
    F - 81

If it makes you feel any better, I'm using Becker and when I started Ninja, a ton of questions came out of left field for me. I guess it's a good thing to get exposure to more possible questions but this is the section I feel the least prepared for.

I just got home from the exam. My experience was similar to bobcat's, in that, the questions were random with the usual focus on the “big” items (think computers and audit). I had a ridiculously easy first test, then 2 and 3 were much tougher. The questions were similar to various test banks, but worded differently or twisted around to make you think of different ways to arrive at the conclusion.

The writing piece was pretty straight ahead with the topics hitting on common business questions. Basically, if you can write a PROPER corporate email, you'll do fine. I knew enough about each subject that I was able to add some color to each suggestion to give the response some depth.

I hope that helps. Now the wait…..

Just walked out of AUD and am now thinking about my BEC prep. Look forward to collaborating on here. What are you guys using to study? Would a CPAexcel/NINJA MCQ & Audio combo do the trick?

    FAR - 71, 76
    AUD - 72, 67, 74
    BEC - 71, 69, TBD
    REG - TBD

@wareagle — I used CPAExcel and Ninja MCQ for AUD & BEC. Ninja is going to give you a nice supplement to questions CPAExcel won't. I recommend purchasing.
