AnonymousInactiveI finally scheduled for February 6. That seems a LONG way off since I'm in review mode but there weren't any open slots earlier that would have worked for me. I would have liked about a week earlier but I'll make do.
Going through COSO again and it's amazing how much I forgot already. I, definitely, need to pick up the NINJA MCQ for overall review.

TarheelgirlMemberThanks to @DoOver and @Bobcat87 for your support and wishes. I was hoping to respond yesterday after my exam on my experience though catching up on life took longer than expected. @bobcat87 – FAR was my very first CPA exam and I think the nervous got the best of me of why I scored a 46 but I went full throttle second time and didn't think I did enough to pass but surprisingly I did. I have had the same game plan with AUD and BEC and just can't get it. I will start studying for AUD again starting tomorrow but AUD is like a different language to me and so how I got to figure it out. Come score release on Feb. 4th I will decide what to do. I don't like giving up but I know the CPA exam and being a CPA is not for everyone, however I did want to atleast go my whole 18 months and say I tried my hardest. Though money issues may get in the way of that as these exams are not cheap.
On to my experience of my BEC exam yesterday, first I will say halfway through the second testlet I wanted to cry and just leave the test center. It was a test that was so much more different that my Q4 experience. At least in Q4 I felt good coming out of the exam, on this one I feel like I failed. It was Super Hard! There was more things on this exam I honestly did not know compared to the last one. I had 2 questions that were repeated twice and 99% (I don't like giving out hundreds) sure I got them right. Corp Goverance was heavily tested on mine so my suggestion is reread the whole Corp Goverance chapter. Had numerous IT questions, had a good amount of calculations some simple some not (or I forgot the formula). Cost questions weren't difficult, Know variances (had more on this test than my last one, if you know what I mean). Economics had a few questions that weren't too bad either. I had to rush through the 3rd testlet as time was running out. I like to leave one hr for the memos. Memos weren't terrible, they all covered one of the 6 sections of the exam. I was surprised by that, all on the same topic.
So in conclusion, study EVERYTHING!! Topics from everywhere tested and some I didn't know. Yes there were a lot I got right but I hope it outweighs what I got wrong. I tried to nail down the memos as this could be a few points to get me over the hump. Good Luck to all and see ya on Feb. 4th. Also anyone have any advice on AUD, 3rd time taking…I am going to really focus on SIMS as they have always tripped me up in the past.
FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!January 7, 2015 at 5:49 pm #655527
CSmith242Participant@Tarheelgirl…Sounds like a tough one…..hope all your studying pays off……but thats how I felt on my 3rd AUD attempt when I finally passed…..I literally bit all of my nails off (acrylic nails btw)…. i wanted to scream, cry , give up and leave but i stuck it out down to the last minute….Hopefully this is a pass for you……
Now my question…can someone please explain… the explanation isnt helping
The full-employment gross domestic product is $1.3 trillion, and the actual gross domestic product is $1.2 trillion. The marginal propensity to consume is 0.8. When inflation is ignored, what increase in government expenditures is necessary to produce full employment?
A.$100 billion
B.$80 billion
C.$20 billion
D.$10 billion

CSmith242ParticipantOh and what I did for audit was hammer mcqs… I got the ninja mcqs and I did all of them and also all of the mcqs in the becker software…..barely read anything….because it was my third time…I started off with mcqs just to see what I knew from what I had no idea about and that actually helped me to pin point what I needed to practice more of….Hope that helps

AnonymousInactive@CSmith. It's 20 million.
1.3bil-1.2bil = x/(1-.80)
100 mill = x/.2
20 mil =x

TarheelgirlMember@DoOver – Yes I'll be in the AUD thread again. Hopefully I can get some questions answered and gain some helpful knowledge on topics I'm iffy about. See ya there and Good Luck on BEC!

AnonymousInactive@Tarheel — Sounds like your exam was a dose of everything. I had a feeling that since there is a smaller population of information then questions would most likely come from everywhere as opposed to certain subject “pockets” on the larger exams. I am hoping that we both are victorious on Feb 4th. I'll be looking for you in the score release thread cheering for you! I have BEC in two days and I'm ready and anxious to see what it brings as these things are so unpredictable.
My advice for AUD — pay very attention to trigger words <always, never, required, double negative phrases, exception of>
For the SIMs, as many have preached on here, I think it is the most important exam of them all to leave time to utilize the AL. Above all, don't go into the exam mentally defeated and thinking AUD is your worst nightmare. Be confident and picture yourself going from 25% done to 75% with only REG left and you could be done before beautiful spring time is over. Now that's something to get excited about.

TarheelgirlMember@Bobcat87 – Compared to like FAR where you know certain topics will be on the exam. To me BEC is totally opposite, everything is tested. Good Luck to you on Friday and I will pray that it will be your last…EVER! 🙂
Thanks for the AUD advice. The sentences really trip me up. On my last exam I did find 2 SIMS word for word in AL, guess that didn't mean much as I still didn't score higher but I plan to utilize it on all the SIMS this time. Thanks for your encouraging words I will go full force determined to defeat this exam…until mental breakdowns get the best of me! I did have a goal to be done by the one year mark which that is July so still could happen. As of now I will keep that as my goal, I would love to be able to enjoy summer this year. See ya on Feb. 4th with passing grades!

In my view, you did pretty well. Getting tough questions is always a good sign. I am sure you will share with us the good news in February. Did Gleim help you this time? or where the questions out of the blue?
All the best for your Audit preparation. go through all the SIMS in GTB, you will not regret it :).
Good Luck!
FAR - 80 (Roger + Wiley TB) May 2014
AUD - 82 (Roger + Gleim TB + Wiley TB) August 2014
REG - 79 (Gleim + Gleim TB) November 2014
BEC - 85 (Gleim + Gleim TB) January 2015January 8, 2015 at 4:07 pm #655536
TarheelgirlMember@Justdoit2014 – Gleim does prepare you very well for BEC. Even though Gleim is very detailed and it covers everything you need to know. Just study everything, because questions are from all topics. Thanks for the AUD advice. I plan to do just, that go through every single SIM in Gleim.
