    @Taheelgirl

Gleim is great for Audit. I dumped Roger midway and focused on Gleim, it helped me a lot. Focus on the SIMS, the ones on the exam are VERY SIMILAR!

    FAR - 80 (Roger + Wiley TB) May 2014
    AUD - 82 (Roger + Gleim TB + Wiley TB) August 2014
    REG - 79 (Gleim + Gleim TB) November 2014
    BEC - 85 (Gleim + Gleim TB) January 2015

Has anyone failed BEC but received comparable or stronger on the written communication? I have failed twice with a 70 and a 71 and received weaker on both exams for my written communication. I am typically a good writer (at least so I thought lol). I have been addressing my memos with

    Dear XXX,

    and closing with

    Regards,

    XXX

I feel this may be the root of my problem. Any feedback anyone? Preferably from someone who has failed BEC but rec'd comparable or stronger on the WC. Thanks in advance!!!

@Justdoit – Thanks. That is what I was going to do this time, focus on the SIMS and do every single one in Gleim. That is what I did with FAR and passed. I'm sure I could gain 16 points just on SIMS.

I found 2 non-research SIMS word for word. Did you find any?

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

@rpull004 – I haven't received my score report yet hopefully by tomorrow though. I am not good writer so I knew I would struggle, but everyone said to pretty much restate what the topic is about and add in keywords.

    I started mine off with:

    Mr. So-and-So,

    blah blah blah

    Sincerely,

    Name

    Title

    Company (if given)

Yes I did find 3 of them very similar. The beauty of Gleim is that it prepares you for the worst, so there are no surprises.

I am finding BEC very easy and am sort of worried if this actually reflects the level of questions that we could get in the actual exam. I have heard horrifying stories about BEC which makes me concerned.

    Right, thank you.

I thought the same thing, because the material isn't bad. There was maybe 1-2 questions I honestly didn't know or ever seen the wording, other than that everything was very familiar to me. Gleim does a good job with the calculations and cost accounting, KNOW them all. I couldn't tell you how many calculations were on my exam. I could have easily had 4 hours for my exam just because of the calculations but thankfully some do not take long to figure out.

    Hey all,

Would some one help me wrap my head around this Ninja qn?

If the dollar price of the euro rises, which of the following will occur?

    A.

The dollar depreciates against the euro.

    B.

The euro depreciates against the dollar.

    C.

The euro will buy fewer European goods.

    D.

The euro will buy fewer U.S. goods.

The correct answer is A, but was wondering why not C?

    Thanks

I failed BEC and got a favorable on WC.

I would restate the problem in the first paragraph and use as many key words as possible. I kept the memos short and to the point….I also didn't get very creative. I read that the WCs are first graded by a computer and that the ckmputer is looking for certain words.

    BEC: 10/2013 71
    AUD: 12/2013 75
    BEC: 02/2014 89
    REG: 05/2014 86
    FAR: 11/2014 81

In answer A it means that it takes more dollars to buy euros. If it used to cost 2 dollars for a euro, it would now cost 3 dollars for that same euro…so the dollar depreciated since it doesn't go as far compared to the euro.

c is wrong cause the euro still buys the same amount of European goods

Did you open up with a greeting and close with a salutation such as

    Dear CFO,

    body.

    Best regards,

    Cpa

Or did you just jump into the first paragraph etc…

Anyone else have feedback on the question above related to the written composition?

    #655267

I have the same question as above
