I would at least understand it. Never know what questions you will see. I did not have one but doesn't mean it won't be on the exams in Q1.

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

I don't think I had a specific question on regression analysis, but I believe I used it a couple of times to make sense of questions I didn't need it for. It's a strong point for me, so I like to use it to restate problems in a way I can better understand.

I had more questions on financial analysis and ratio interpretation. I've noticed that since the last update the NINJA notes have changed a lot and don't reference them as much. I'm not sure if that's a change in the program, or a change in the exam. Does anyone know?

    Exam:I'm done 🙂 🙂 🙂
    REG - 71 (2/22/14); 67 (4/3/14); 74 (8/29/15); 83 (2/29/16)!!!
    BEC - 72 (5/24/14); 85 (1/3/15)!!!!
    AUD - 72 (8/23/14); 76 (10/15/14)!!!
    FAR - 77 (5/26/15)!!!

Started in 2013 using Kaplan and failed REG, REG, BEC, AUD. Switched to NINJA suite in Sept 2014 and passed AUD...then BEC...then FAR!
REG took 2 tries but I finally got it in too!
I'm a hard convert - Using NINJA method with NINJA video/book/notes/MCQ

    Education: Check
    Experience: 3 months left! I hit 4 years on May 30 🙂

I spent yesterday typing out a bunch of Cost Accounting notes and I'm, FINALLY, ready to move onto Becker B3 (Financial Management). I'll be very happy to get through the lecture and some of the MCQ by weekend end.

Can I get some advice on what materials to use for BEC?

At the moment, I am full ninja with BEC Ninja book, notes, flashcards, and MCQ. Would anyone reccomend adding anything else perhaps from a different source?

Ill throw a study question out as well. Lets see…

The Sarbanes-Oxley Act requires financial issuers to publish what kind of information?

    A. The immaterial condition of the company

    B. Internal control performance relative to industry best practice benchmarks

    C. Only positive impacts on internal controls

    D. The scope and capabilities of the internal control structure

If I had to suggest something I would say another test bank, however there are increasing numbers of people who pass with just NINJA test bank. I would think you would be fine, especially if you used NINJA for AUD (which I have yet to pass 🙁 ) Would love some of your pointers being you passed on first try??

In regards to your question is it…D? Debating between B and D.

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

The answer is D. Good job 😀

For Audit I used Gleim Test Prep, Ninja Notes, and Ninja flashcards. The reason I used Gleim for Audit and not BEC is because my Master's program has CPA exam prep classes that we have to take that require Gleim…but there's no class for BEC so I do not get the discount for using it in a class and thus I thought I would try ninja. I am just not sure if it will be enough by itself.

    CPRV19: Answer D

I purchased Becker for all 4 portions of the exam and have no regrets but it is NOT cheap. The lectures are very thorough and they give you a ton of MCQ and SIMs to practice on.

With that being said, I purchased Ninja MCQ to supplement FAR (I went through the MCQ in Becker so many times I didn't have to read the whole question to pick out the correct answer) and I plan to do the same with BEC.

That is what have, Gleim. I am going to focus more on using the full approach of Gleim in my retake of AUD, by reading the entire book again and focus on doing all the SIMS.

Reading some of the threads Ninja was enough for BEC. There are a lot formulas so I would know them all. I think you would be safe but if you want more purchase the Gleim Test Bank, there are a ton of questions. Gleim is way more in depth than other review courses.

Here is a study question as well…

A shift of the demand curve for a country’s currency to the right could be caused by which of the following?

    A. A foreign government placing restrictions on the importation of the country’s goods.

    B. A fall in the country’s interest rates.

    C. A rise in consumer incomes in another country.

    D. Domestic inflation worsens.

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

    BEC - 69, 74 Really??

@ Tarheelgirl A lot of people strongly recommend Ninja Audio Notes for AUD. I passed using only Becker but Ninja Audio gets very good reviews. For me though it helped that I took Attest Function as one of my last classes for my Master's of Accountancy degree and the exam was a review of that entire class. So Becker was all I needed to reinforce the material which I already knew.

My plan for BEC is to get through the Becker lectures and then buy the MCQ and, maybe, the Audio (I can listen to it on the way to and from work).

With all that being said, I know Becker isn't for everyone. I find it to be really good and very thorough but what I don't find it to be is cheap.

I feel like all my time is spent studying for cost. I HATE it.

Bobcat87: I completely hear you. I'm not done with Cost Accounting. I still need to go back and review it quite a bit. But within the last few days, things started to click and I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with it now. I just started onto B3 which is Finance and I got through the first part of the lecture. It's a breath of fresh air after all the Cost Accounting stuff.

General question: A lot of people ask this for FAR but I'm wondering if it's different for BEC. Do they, usually give you the Present Value Factors on the exam or do we need to calculate them ourselves on the Exam? For FAR, I only had a couple of questions where PV was involved and they gave me a series of factors to use.

If life knocks you down, try to land on your back, cause if you can look up, You can get up! No matter how bad it is or how bad it gets, I'M GOING TO MAKE IT.
