I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

You should but the question says not to. “tax regulations permit machines of this type to be depreciated using the straight-line method over 5 years with no consideration for salvage value.”

So I'm taking BEC tomorrow, and I'm mega nervous of course.

I've reviewed basically every chapter, and I'm spending all day today doing MCQ's essentially. I redid all of the MCQ's in the Wiley Book, and I went from 75% to 89% overall; and I don't really believe I memorized questions either so hopefully that's all a good sign. I also did all of the questions on CPAreviewforfree and got a 78% overall which is lower than I would want.. Did the Wiley practice exam in the book though and got a 89% (giving myself full credit on WC's of course :p) so that's not a bad sign either. Also did the AICPA released questions and got 19/20 on the medium and 16/20 on the hard, though I made some very silly errors. We'll see how all the progress exams go on the WTB..

Just curious, based on anybody's experience, do you think those scores I'm putting up will be similar to how I score on the actual exam tomorrow?

    BEC: 88 (8/27/13)
    FAR: 93 (12/3/13)
    REG: 92 (2/27/14)
    AUD: 95 (4/22/14)

Found this question on AICPA website…

Which cash management technique focuses on cash disbursements?

    Lock Box

    Zero Balance Account

    Pre-authorized Check

    Deposit Transfer Checks

I thought it would be pre-authorized check as it is a disbursement check? The correct answer is zero balance account. Can someone explain?

@sdmoore, In general a ZBA account is used for disbursements, where only amount are transferred into the account to cover pending debits or checks. Not sure if this helps.

Jeez, is the last section of Chapter 1 in Becker BEC the hardest it gets? I thought BEC was supposed to be the easiest.. I feel like this is way harder than anything in FAR or REG.. Is it mainly because I just started studying, it's somewhat foreign, and I haven't seen a decent amount of multiple choice yet?
