I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

Ok, I think I'm confused about monetary and fiscal policies. Could someone please tell me if this is right?

Monetary policy when its expansionary will put downward pressure on interest rates.

Fiscal policy when it is expansionary will cause interest rates to increase.

Can someone tell me if that is right? Also it seems monetary in that example would increase exports, but the fiscal policy would reduce exports?

Hi guys is there an easier less complicated way of explaining service costing allocation (Direct allocation, Stepup/down and Reciprocal) and throughput? I am ready to die right BEC is a monster. Struggling with economics. I am ready to throw myself on the floor and just cry (I know its bit dramatic) but I know now why nephew does it.

Economics how do I practice all the formulas?

Since I just found out I passed BEC , maybe what I did would work for you guys too! 🙂

The 3-4 days before my BEC exam I was exactly like you @Mickey. I really didn't feel like studying. I hated the BEC topics. But instead of not studying, I cut down my hours of studying from 8 to 4-5. And just pounded the mcq as well as flashcards. That is what I think gave me the extra edge.

Having said that, I don't feel like Becker properly cuts down a lot of material for you. Whatever they say, please don't focus on one area too much. They say to focus on Financial Management, Econ, and Corp Gov but most of my questions were not from that at all!

I know it's a lot of material but try to get a firm grasp of each content. What I did was, I watched the lecture, then read the book, then took notes and made flashcards, did multiple choice questions, rewrote the notes and redid the mcq. The NINJA notes definitely made things easier for me to understand.

And I can't stress enough: understand the “IT” section VERY well.

I didn't study at all for the simulations; I would only say to brush up on English and grammar if those are your weak points.

Also what helped me? Before I walked into the exam, I drank a few sips of Gatorade (vitamin water helps too). It gives you that extra mental boost to keep focus throughout the exam.

I also listened to the NINJA audio while on my way to the exam; it gets your mind in focus for the exam.

Hope I've been of help (somewhat). And good luck to those of you taking BEC!

    BEC (July 2013)
    FAR (OCT 2013)
    REG (NOV 2013)
    AUD (JAN 2014)

The CPA Exam is an opponent that not even the Fellowship of the Ring would want to come across.

    I have a long...long...journey ahead of me.

    ZSRizvi Thank for the tips

by the way I totally agree with you regarding the Gatorade I tried it by mistake during AUD that is very long and I needed something to wake me up in the middle of the exam so since then I always take a break in the middle drink and come back refresh – seemed to work since I passed aud and far lol

    REG - 79
    AUD - 84
    FAR - 82
    BEC - 8/29/13

Thanks@ ZSRizvi, It doesn't help that I am from NonNASBA state and still waiting for my grade. So my focus is a bit all over the place at the moment.

I will keep on pounding Mcqs. Just did a question NPV its amazing how quickly you forget when you don't practice.

Hi guys! I wanted to check in and see how you guys are doing! I took a break yesterday to celebrate passing REG but now I am back to BEC, I am stressing a little bit since my study time will be reduced due to school and I am not that confident with B2, B3 and B6, I am averaging 87 on my progress tests I am not sure it that is good or bad I was averaging in the 90s for REG but in the 70's for FAR and I passed both hopefully I feel more confident in the next week.

@InfernoOmni – I am sure you did great!!!

@oilgaslb – it sounds like you passed that test!!

To everyone else taking BEC this week good luck!

    FAR 5/29/13 75
    REG 7/27/13 84
    BEC 08/31/13 84
    AUD 11/02/13 89

@lmendez2 are you using becker? if so I think getting in the 80 should be good based on my experience with the other 3 exams. I think the chapters you are having issues with are chapters most people have issues with so just do your best until your test good luck and congrats on passing the exam

    REG - 79
    AUD - 84
    FAR - 82
