I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

Okay, working mcq and came across this one…maybe I am just losing it but for the life of me I can't figure out how they came up with the equivalent units in this problem:

The Forming Department is the first of a two-stage production process. Spoilage is identified when the units have completed the Forming process. Costs of spoiled units are assigned to units completed and transferred to the second department in the period spoilage is identified. The following information concerns Forming's conversion costs in May 20X5:

Conversion

Units costs

Beginning work-in-process

(50% complete) 2,000 $10,000

Units started during May 8,500 75,500

Spoilage-normal 500

Units completed & transferred 7,000

Ending work-in-process

(80% complete) 3,000

Using the weighted average method, what was Forming's conversion cost transferred to the second production department?

How would you compute the eu's for this because I came up with 10,400 which was wrong….

InfernoOmni:Whenever I see a flexible budget question I look for an answer that says something about it being able to adjust for actual units produced during the period. Although other answers may fit, it's usually the best choice

Smyoung: What is the correct answer? If I calculated EU based on weighted average I come up with 9,400 units which would be the 7000 completed and transferred plus (80% x 3,000 Ending WIP). Then I would think you subtract the 500 units that were part of normal spoilage and come up with 8,900 EUs. I am curious if this is the correct answer?

2. Balance sheet and statement of cash flows.

The operating budget process includes:

1. All budgets except cash and capital purchases.

2. The pro forma income statement.”

But the book (pg B2-27) states the financial budgets include “Pro forma financial statements” and the operating budgets don't mention the pro forma income statement.

Clarification anyone?

Also getting very nervous about the written portion.. I still don't really fully understand how they are graded so I don't really know how to practice them? I'm hoping I will do well enough on the MC to not be on the bubble but who knows
