I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

I would appreciate any suggestions for the last week of studying before my exam August 12. I finished all lectures, homework, Becker final review, and practice exams. I am currently doing daily progress tests and re-reading the explanations to the answers for review. I haven't spent a whole lot of time practicing the writing because I am so worried about the multiple choice on this exam. Should I practice more of the writing or stick to re-working the mcqs?

    FAR 92 (2/27/13)
    AUD 99 (4/18/13)
    REG 93 (7/5/13)
    BEC 92 (8/12/13)

I didn't spend any time on preparing for the writing portion. If you went to school in the U.S and work for an American company that requires you to write/reply emails in English, you should pretty well prepared for the written sims. I completely BS'd my sims, and just made up my own rules to explain whatever they wanted me to explain and I passed. I am not sure about how significant content is and I can honestly say, if it were based on content, I definitely bombed the writing.

    Done ^_^

Hi All, In the B2 homework there's the following question:

“Bruell Electronics Co. is developing a new product, surge protectors for high-voltage electrical flows. The following cost information relates to the product.

    Unit Costs

    Direct materials

    $3.25

    Direct labor

    4.00

    Distribution

    .75

The company will also be absorbing $120,000 of additional fixed-costs associated with this new product. A corporate fixed charge of $20,000 currently absorbed by other products will be allocated to this new product.

If the selling price is $14 per unit, the breakeven point in units (rounded to the nearest hundred) for surge protectors is:”

The answer is 20,000, and the explanation says that the additional $20,000 fixed cost is to be ignored. Why are we ignoring this cost? I thought that BE analysis says we use “all fixed costs.”

@mmp3 I would focus on the practice exams; the sims are merely to test your ability to write properly. They are looking for proper punctuation, spelling and document format. If you have any business experience at all you should do well.

@cournae my prep for the WCs is going to consist of setting aside 45 minutes each day for the eight days or so before my exam to do the Becker practice sims. I figure it will get me in the mode of quickly writing BS under a time constraint. I'm not very good at making stuff up on the fly, but if I get in the habit of doing it every day, I think/hope I should be fine.

I am using the Becker review materials for my BEC prep and have been taking the progress tests as a means to prepare for my upcoming exam… I have noticed that I am beginning to get some of the same questions over and over again. Is anyone else having that issue? Is there a way to shuffle the deck per say?
