I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

I am in the same boat as you @InfernoOmni…I started B5 last night…the good thing is after I get all these lectures completed I am going back to read through the chapters and do MCQ's. So lets hope those equations will stick that time. I have all the mnemonics floating in my head, but not sure exactly where they apply.

    REG - 2/27/2013 - 78!!!!
    AUD - 5/17/2013 - 72...Retake July 12th - 79!!!!
    BEC - 8/29/2013 - 77!!!!
    FAR - 11/14/2013- 72....Retake February 28th - 80!!! DONE!!!!

@sdmoore – Look here: https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/is-your-becker-expiring-there-is-a-one-time-extension-policy You can get an extension for Becker. 🙂 I don't use Becker so don't know the details of CD vs online etc, but I thought that might help you out either way!

@10key – The goal of ABC is to break things down to the lowest level that the cost is incurred at, and figure out how to maximize profit. So, if your setup cost is $100 for a batch that makes 500 units, then at that level, your setup cost per unit is $0.20. If you make 750 units, then you have 2 batches, and incurred $200 of setup costs. But, the cost required to produce 1 unit isn't $0.27 – that's what you paid per unit, but it's not really the cost per unit, because if you had been more efficient, then you would've maximized the $200 of setup costs by producing 1000 units. The goal of ABC is to differentiate between what you could've done and what you did do…to see that the decision to produce 750 units instead of 1000 units caused you to incur a $50 inefficiency cost. Is that the type of situation you were wondering about and does that make sense?

Finally finished SU20 from Gleim. Hopefully the last time I will ever have to open a Gleim book (praying that I passed reg and don't need to re-study…)

Time for final review stage/practice testing!

@kkimi05: Likewise. Like I have vocabulary floating around with no definitions. Definitions with no vocabulary. Then I have some formulas floating around in my head, but forget what they apply to. And lots of concepts, but completely forgot the related formula.

Macroeconomics so far has been the easiest section for me. Either Peter Olinto is really good at teaching it or the concept is just pretty simple to grasp. I wish all subjects were as easy to grasp for me as B5, lol.

    FAR: 50, 76!
REG: 74... (ouch baby, very ouch), 76!
    AUD: 65, 91!?
    BEC: 80! Aaaand doneskies!

    May 2012 to August 2013. Can't believe it's over.
