I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

Hi everyone, I just joined the group so I am navigating around and trying to learn all of the etiquette. I just got my review materials and plan to sit for BEC probably in late August. I work full time and am a mom so trying to learn how to juggle all of those responsibilities and study. I haven't sat for the exam at all yet so I have no idea what to expect! I am using Steve Martin's MDS CPA review prep and I am considering supplementing with a crash course of some kind. I also have the 2013 Wiley book. So far terrified and any tips for newbies to exam taking appreciated 😉

Also I am in the middle of MDS's first week which starts with cost accounting.

    Restarting my journey!

Yes I am Jennifer, but I have the Yaeger 2011 course from my first try. I spent today watching Cindy's updates and going through the 2013 text.

smyoung- Welcome!!! You've come to the right place to get a handle on this slow train ride through hell called the CPA exam 🙂 I'm a mom with a full time job too. I'll tell you, juggling the exam with work and mom duties is not easy. It's actually painful. It can really hurt your heart. My advice is to remind your self each day that you are doing this to better yourself and the life you can provide your child(ren). Remember this is a short term sacrifice for a long term gain.

I spent most of 2012 trying to balance it all and I kept coming up just short of passing each exam. Finally, at the end of 2012 I gave studying my all, and just apologized to my daughter. I reassured her this won't last much longer, but I had to get through it, or it would never end. I passed 2 exams in 3 months with that mindset.

I keep having nightmares about failing BEC. I know I got at least 4 questions wrong. A couple of them were most likely pretest questions but I just don't know how to gauge my experience. I have not kept studying for BEC as I wait.. but I feel like maybe I should have. This wait is terrible! Less than 6 days till I face my destiny.

Ummm i have no idea what the PP is talking about…

Question – how much time are you all putting into studying for the writing portion? right now im not too worried about it because i feel like either you know how to write professionally or you dont. any methods you guys are using?

Also, dont know if i'm delusional here but BEC so far seems sooo much easier than FAR and AUD…granted I'm only in Chapter 3 of Becker
