I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

I am scoring 80% and above on all the material I have gotten through on my review (basically means I have gone through the material twice). Today I actually got a 90%, was sooo excited until I saw that all the questions I missed were in IT!

WTH I love IT, back to reviewing my IT notes.

@Jenn, how are you using the WTB? Are you adding multiple sections on one practice section?

I've been doing single sections and I'm scoring on average 80% too but I haven't combined sections to see how i would do.

I am in my review stage, so in the WTB I choose the sections I have down pretty solid, which are:

Corp Gov, Economics, IT, Performance Measures – I do 20-30 MCQ's everyday so that I keep the information in the forefront of my mind (along with reading my ninja notes on those sections each day)

I am working through Planning & Control Analysis now in my Wiley book, and will do all the WTB questions on it tonight, if I get better than 70% I will move onto another section to review. Next up will be Cost.

    My exam is this Saturday.

Finally finished B2 HW questions lastnight. 200 questions is no joke. 63% on the first section; 69% on the second section. I think I finally got a solid understanding of the topics and MCQ's, but man, I hate that some MCQ's can take forever to solve. I'll have to work on my speed on solving B2 questions during my review phase. Really glad to be done with this section for now; it may have been worse than F2 from FAR.

Anyway, going to take a 30 question progress exam and move on to B3: Financial Management lectures tonight.

I reviewed over the section and looked at the flashcards… it looked like the entire chapter was filled with more *GASP* formulas!! I normally use online flashcards to study, but I think I'm going to write up my own private section of flashcards that contain all of the formulas.

I really, really hope B3 isn't as difficult as B2: Planning, Budgeting, Analysis, etc. 🙁

    FAR: 50, 76!
REG: 74... (ouch baby, very ouch), 76!
    AUD: 65, 91!?
    BEC: 80! Aaaand doneskies!

    May 2012 to August 2013. Can't believe it's over.

I'm about to finish B-1 using Rogers and I have to say im pretty lost. I dont if im rushing or anything but i just listen to the lectures and it does not make alot of sense to me. I hope this is like AUD that when you finish it all ties together in the end.

For those of you who used Becker, how would you rate the chapters in terms of difficulty from a scale of 1-5? 5 being the most difficult.

    FAR: 50, 76!
REG: 74... (ouch baby, very ouch), 76!
    AUD: 65, 91!?
    BEC: 80! Aaaand doneskies!

    @Inferno

Well, for me difficult would be in terms of how dull the chapter is and how abstract.

    1: Econ.

    2. Financial Management

    3. B6 (process management and all that)

    4. Strategic planning

    5. IT/Corporate Governance

I honestly find Econ and Financial Management to be enjoyable (but then again I did a double major in Accounting and Finance). Well, at least the Becker questions I find to be easy since I'm scoring about 85-90% on them…which I hope is a good sign.

IT and Corporate Governance, there's just too much information and information that is abstract. Meaning, I'm having a hard time visualizing it.

Strategic Planning (B2) is difficult as well but once you get the mnemonics down, it becomes a lot easier.

I would say focus on B3, B5, and B1 the most since those are the bulk of the questions. However, if you're good with them, focus on your weaker areas. My weaker areas are definitely IT and Corporate Governance.

    BEC (July 2013)
    FAR (OCT 2013)
    REG (NOV 2013)
    AUD (JAN 2014)

The CPA Exam is an opponent that not even the Fellowship of the Ring would want to come across.

    I have a long...long...journey ahead of me.
