I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

Federal Reserve is not the Federal Government

Think of them as their own separate entity.

Fiscal Policy = Fed Gov (Gov can adjust taxes and how much the gov wants to spend)

Monetary Policy = Fed Reserve adjustments (int rates, reserve balances, selling of bonds)

FYI – open market purchases by the Federal Reserve is the Reserve selling bonds, or buying them back. They do this to put in or take more of the supply of money out of/in to the market

    Thanks!

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

Jennifer probably going to put in big letters that REAL IR = NOMINAL IR – INFLATION RATE because I keep mixing it up!!! Trying to engrave in my head that “N”nominal uses “N”ormal or current prices (meaning no inflation adjustment necessary) so the formula should be easy to remember…

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77

I have a question regarding Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

I came across this problem on Becker (once again) and I got the answer right but I still am confused about its meaning:

Clauson Inc. grants credit terms of 1/15, net 30 and projects gross sales for next year of $2,000,000. The credit manager estimates that 40 percent of their customers pay on the discount date, 40 percent on the net due date, and 20 percent pay 15 days after the net due date. Assuming uniform sales and a 360-day year, what is the projected days sales outstanding (rounded to the nearest whole day)?

The answer is 27 because you multiple 40% by 15 which is 6, 40% by 30 which is 12, and then 20% by 45 which is 9.

What I want to know is what does that mean? 6, 12, and 9 days of A/R still left to collect? Or is that how long it takes to collect A/R?

    BEC (July 2013)
    FAR (OCT 2013)
    REG (NOV 2013)
    AUD (JAN 2014)

The CPA Exam is an opponent that not even the Fellowship of the Ring would want to come across.

    I have a long...long...journey ahead of me.

I'm going through the MCQ in the Wiley book and testbank multiple times

    2x Wiley book and…

    2x Wiley testbank

I have unintentionally memorized a good 40-60% of all the answers since I've studied this section a few months before.

How detrimental do you think this is… anyone going through the same thing?
