I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

Dutkas, I have plenty of *confidence*, I just keep getting the wrong answer. Too bad this isn't like real life where even the wrong answer delivered with confidence often gets you where you need to go.

    Oops — double post.

(But I delivered that second post *with confidence*! HA!)

I sit for AUD tomorrow and then I'll start the next day studying for a 7 1/2 week trudge to BEC so I'll be contributing in this thread more.

I've kept up with this thread somewhat, and everyone keeps talking about ….. variances. I guess I'll find out soon enough what it's all about.

@ DJN….have you checked out the SAD PURE DADS mnemonic? I was REALLY struggling with variances and that's helped quite a bit. I test tomorrow so just hoping that helps get me thru variance questions!

@C32, I am *generally* OK with something I can solve using PURE DADS, but more complex than that and I'm hopeless.

@ZSRizvi What topics are those sections, maybe those of us who don't have Becker could help you out more 🙂

@10key Good luck on audit, remember the acronyms for Internal Control are they must be strong as IRON (Inquiry, Re-performance, Observation, and Inspection) and Evidence is TRACE.

@ DJN I spend an entire week reviewing variances for overhead, after you do the problems over and over again it starts to stick. For me the way that Wiley book explains it is much easier to understand. All the other materials gives you an equation to calculate it, but the Wiley book actually walks you through the entire process and then you understand why they apply the equation. For me this helped tremendously, because if I don't know the entire process from start to finish then I can't understand the equations.

My BEC study schedule, well I took yesterday off. Probably not a great thing but I had a wonderful time. So now to focus today on getting Economics review done!

    AUD - Jan 9,13 Pass
    REG - Aug 30,13 Pass
    BEC - Oct 26,13 Pass
    FAR - Dec 4,13 Pass
