    I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

    I was working full-time while at school with the goal of saving up money so that I can drop down to part time after graduation during the summer and focus my attention on the CPA. My “real” job begins October 15th so my goal was to have the CPA wrapped up before then. So right now, I can focus 4 out the 7 days full-time on studying while the other three I work part time and study when I get home.

    We shall see if my strategy pays off! I am assuming you are working full-time and studying?

    @dutkas,

    Yeah, and it is not much fun. Some days just barely dragging feet. Get splitting headaches from traffic/commute (although it is short one) and by the time reach home, usually all want to do is to lay on the couch. Today for example, barely forced myself to complete 49 min remaining video. Just could not do more. But, on the other hand, the finish line is visible, last push to my relative freedom!

    Good luck to both us, we can do it! Keep posted of how your strategy works out. Looking forward to read passing posts.

    Question for everyone as I have 3 conflicting resources on this….and it is basically bugging me. Would you consider normal spoilage as a direct materials cost or as a factory overhead cost? In the grand scheme of things not a major question but my MDS program, Wiley and Ninja notes all say different slightly so I am wondering what your notes and resources tell you.

    Per Becker, normal scrap (spoilage) is part of DM, see quote below.

    ~snip~ Inventoriable “direct raw materials are the costs of materials purchased to be used in production including freight-in net of any applicable purchase discounts PLUS a reasonable amount for normal scrap created by the process” (abnormal scrap should be expensed out, i.e. treated as period cost).

    The only thing that is keeping my studying is the fact this will be my last test.

    This week it hit again, that feeling of just being so friggin over this.

    I hate the CPA exam.

    And that is all I signed in to share.

    I'm behind in my rewriting and my homework. I'm not too worried about it, I'm sure I'll make up the time this week. But, oh how I long to be done with this. Just 15 days. 15 days. Then it will all be over.

    @MCKLT,

    Don't panic, you are almost there!!!!

    Take a cold-hearted approach, do your best be it knowledge or educated guess and give the exam very hard shove! I'm rooting for your success and can undersign under your post above in regards to the only fact motivating now is the fact that BEC is the last & final exam.

    Let's do it!

    Love Seattle's enthusiasm! One week from tomorrow for me! I am very nervous about the whole thing, haha.

    @dutkas

    Good luck to you as well!

    I can certainly relate to being anxious for the first test but now let me assure you that those fears were unfounded fears!

    Make sure to arrive early, pack a snack/H2O/drink into clear ziplock and leave it on the top of locker to be accessible for a quick sip. Also I always pack Excedrin migraine or other headache meds b/c for some freaking reason i get headaches a lot around the exam days (never had this in school). Don't worry much about Prometrics check-in, most employees are very friendly. Do your best and guessing is OK, don't dwell on questions that are obscure and weird, move on to gain overall passing grade, that's all that matters. You can do it!

    Looking forward to your and MCKLT “I passed BEC” posts!
