jeffKeymasterI have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

N. AlexMemberI just finished BEC 2…It took longer than I thought and I didn't even touch the Optional questions :(( …..using Becker 2012
I have to move to BEC 3 right now… 🙂
Does anyone knows the longest or hardest chapter? I want to know if I have to change my time allocation for each chapter…
My study plan variance is UNFAVORABLE for now… 😛

Jennifer241Member@MCLKT OMG you are awesome, writing that down next to my ratio sheet! BTW I kicked butt today on my lunch break, read half of Fin Risk Mngt Chapter! Now to finish it!
@N. Alex It depends on everyone's own strengths and weaknesses as to how slow or fast they get through the material. I LOVE computers, so I breezed through the IT chapter, took me 2 hours to read and do my notes, while the cost chapters I spend an entire week trudging through that information to get a grasp on it.
AUD - Jan 9,13 Pass
REG - Aug 30,13 Pass
BEC - Oct 26,13 Pass
FAR - Dec 4,13 PassLicensed CPA in the state of Oregon

AnonymousInactiveFor those who are having issues with Fixed/Variable Overhead analysis (Like me) I found some great links that really helped me “get it”.
VMOH – https://2012books.lardbucket.org/books/managerial-accounting-v1.0/section_14_05.html
Fixed MOH is also in there along with a ton of other info about cost accounting,

SeattleAccountantMember@N.Alex,
Very similar situation here: BEC ch 2 takes longer time than anticipated basically dragging on forever! Hopefully, remaining 4 chapters will flow faster. Noticed this situation occurs for me with every section so far including BEC. There is/was always a chapter that took forever and ate into study time significantly or was super boring and I was unmotivated to complete it. So, I guess it is normal. Strategy to deal with such is giving such chapter best shot, and extra nudge & time and move on. Usually, it all falls back into place once all stuff is completed.
When are you testing?
Becker Class of Jan - Aug 2013: FARB DONE!!!!

AnonymousInactiveSo, BEC Ninjas This is the 1st time I've sat for BEC, I'm about halfway through the videos and plan to sit mid-July
I've heard BEC is trickier than you would expect. From my experience REG was in the details, AUD was in the language and FAR was in the amount of material.
What form does the BEC bogyman come in for you? I'd especially like to hear from BEC retakers. What tripped you up? What should we be extra sure we master for this exam?
Also, @MCLKT checking into the BEC study group is always awesome with your energy on here

MCLKTParticipantHey thanks BlueGirl! 🙂
“I've heard BEC is trickier than you would expect. From my experience REG was in the details, AUD was in the language and FAR was in the amount of material.” — um, I love this. It is such a great description!
I think the BEC Boogeyman is hiding somewhere between theory and formulas. If you focus too much on the equations, you will surely be tested heavily on Corp. Governance, AUD, IT, and Econ. If you master those topics memorizing structure, definitions, and relationships, you will be jeopardizing your time budget. And risk missing some easy points because rumor has it equation MCQs are weighted heavier.
As for WC, it's only worth 15%. You can get 0 points from WC and still pass the exam without even getting all the MCQ correct 🙂 That's the bright side.
I think TIMED sessions of equation mcq's will be key along with a conversational knowledge of the chapters I mentioned above.
ETA: Holy Cow!!! Only 3 weeks and I will (God willing) take my LAST CPA exam!!!!

smyoung0521ParticipantI am at a loss! Does anyone else feel like they just aren't getting it. I am using a program and was going to supplement in July with the Ninja notes. However, right now….I am not sure if the program I am using is right for me. I don't know what to do….is it common to feel lost the first time you do questions or should I look into purchasing another actual program for this exam. Since this is my first experience I don't know what is normal….. 🙁 any thoughts out there?
Restarting my journey!
