    I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

    AHA!

    Yeah our study methods do differ tremendously. I watched the video's, then I do the reading in Wiley book, take notes and make flashcards, then I do the required MCQ's from that section. Anytime I get an answer incorrect I look at why. Then I plan to hammer our questions in WTB during my final 1-2 weeks of review.

    I keep my flashcards in my purse, so I can review them on my commute or on break at work or during lunch. I even write out examples of calculation problems on them so that I can see the calculations all the way through. (Visual learner here)

    It is very tedious, but the other way just wasn't working for me, I have to be able to apply what I learned to the questions immediately to understand it all.

    You say next week is going to be tedious, what will you be doing differently?

    Perfect example of how different methods work for different people 🙂

    Next week I rewrite all of the notes one chapter at a time, and do the assigned problems from the book. That's also when I begin my “Fact Nugget” notebook and create flash cards and work on memorizing formulas and mnemonics. I actually start that process tomorrow after finishing the final videos. It will take all week, then next Sunday I will take a full length practice exam to evaluate my weaknesses. Using the results, I will spend another week focusing on each area (as in an unGodly amount of MCQ, Flashcards, Ninja Notes, Audio, Fact Nuggets). I'll take my 2nd practice exam at the end of that week.

    So that's my plan for the next two weeks.

    This should leave me one more week for a final review to really drill everything into my brain 🙂

    I've just enjoyed a nice 2 hour break for dinner, exercise and a little t.v. to regroup.

    Starting round two of a BEC Saturday! Performance Measures here I come!

    3 weeks unitl BEC. So there were 5 chapters in my wiley book that I wanted to redo the book questions for. I have 3 left. The goal is to knock those out by mid next week. Then I want to do practice sessions for each module on my online test bank and then comprehensive sessions. The objective is not to have to take this section a 4th time.

    REG - 5/29/12 (64), 10/1/12 (74), 5/20/13 (75, expires 12/31/14)
    FAR - 8/14/12 (64), 8/5/14 (75)
    BEC - 11/19/12 (70), 2/25/13 (72), 11/21/13 (73), 1/21/14 (73), 8/30/14 (72), 11/24/14 (75)
    AUD - 4/22/13 (65), 10/12/13 (79)

    I'm done!!!

    Hey BEC Studiers : )

    I had a pretty successful weekend. Finished chapter 3 and 4. Hoping to get thru 5 & 6 this week. Though is crunch time at work, with school district audit deadline June 30th. Bad planning on my part! haha

    Plan for my last 14 days:

    This week: Chapters 5 & 6

    Final week (Monday – Friday): Chapters 1 and go back and redo all becker problems I got wrong the first time thru.

    Saturday and Sunday: Do problems from Wiley test bank and review notes.

    Home stretch baby!!!

    Audit 10/2012- 77
    Reg- 1/7/13- 82
    Financial-2/25/13- 78
    BEC- 74,66,81!

    License pending : )

    Ethics- Passed

    Just dropping in to share a little memory trick I am using to help interpret ratio relationships.

    This is if only if only one or the other (numerator or denominator) change. Not both changing in the same ratio.

    {UP, up, up}
    {DOWN, up, down}

    The all caps references numerator (UP) and denominator (DOWN)

    The middle “up” represents increase or decrease in the previous

    Last up/down represents increase or decrease in total ratio

    So if the NUMERATOR, increases, the ratio increases.

    If the DENOMINATOR, increases, the ratio decreases.

    EX: Acct. Rec. Turnover = Net Credit Sales/Avg. Acct. Rec.

    And there is an increase in Average A/R.

    {DOWN, up, down}

    This means Acct. Rec. Turnover decreases

    Power Night tonight, be back in a few hours!
