I have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

Wrapping up Econ and going through all of Risk Management tonight.

    Power Night!!!

I'm just making sure I'm familiar with the formulas right now. And writing them all in my mnemonic/formula notebook for quick reference. I think I'll wait until I'm going through all of the homework and then my final review to really “memorize” them. That way it'll be really close to test day and I can utilize my short term memory 🙂

    ~checking in

Completed BEC ch 1 out of total 6 chapters; so far, the skinniest exam book but have a feeling that probably have to do my own research to supplement Becker. Moving at a tortoise speed. Got invited to Father's day deep sea fishing but had to decline promising to go next year. At least now people checking with me before assuming that I will or insisting that I shall join them! They finally getting it.

Hope to have a few power days writing notes and banging MCQ related to corporate governance and various inventoriable costs. August can't come fast enough, I better shape up and put in effort!

@MCKLT, how far are you now? How many chapters out of total are covered so far?

I feel quilty of taking a week off and now slowly catching up with all of you guys. Anybody else is also testing first week of Aug?

Becker Class of Jan - Aug 2013: FARB DONE!!!!
    CPA license pending 🙂

    Jennifer – I don't envy you, ewwww!

Seattle – It is so hard to turn those things down, but remember the sacrifice now is setting you up for success later 🙂

Yaeger has 9 chapters. And I'm using 2011 materials so if I count all of the updates I read and watched that could be chapter too! So… 10 chapters, lol.

I started out slow too. But realized quickly that I didn't have the time to do it 100% all over again. My NTS expires 7/9 therefore, my test date is set in stone. I really just want a refresher on all of the material and then spends some solid time working questions.

I finished 4 of my 10 chapters so far. And plan to get through the 5th before I crash.

    Updates

    Corp. Governance

    I.T.

    Economics

    {Risk Management}

    Keep up the hard work!

I plan to take it on July 3rd, I have 12 months until my Audit expires, so I need to start taking 2 exams a window. Plan to take REG at the end of August, so that makes me have to take BEC at the beginning of July.

I just took BEC in May, which I prepared for it halfheartedly because I was preoccupied with life, I had a NTS that was expiring or I would have post-poned it. I purchased a new home in March, so Feb, Mar, & Apr were filled with papers /packing /moving/ unpacking (family of 5), as well as my daughter's wedding in May, both my children's birthdays in May, and my daughters graduation in June.

I have no wiggle room left, it is time to focus and knock these exams out! I am not moving on from studying a section until I feel GREAT about it. That is what I did on audit, and I got a passing score, so it is what I will do on all of them! At the end of this next testing window I should be 3/4 of the way done with the CPA exam!

Sometimes… you just have to pull up your big girl panties and do it, whether you want to or not!

Based on all the information I have gathered, a working knowledge of everything in BEC should get you by. I have also heard there are some FAR topics as WC questions, but the majority have said they are easy. I would say continue pounding MCQs and you'll be adequately prepared.
