jeffKeymasterI have a question that I hope you can help me with…. I purchased the Becker CD’s and installed them on my PC. I have taken and passed all but one of the exams (BEC left).. I was checking to see if my software was up to date and noticed an expiration date of November 2013.. Does this mean my software ( downloaded from my CD’s) will no longer work after November….or will it no longer be supported but I can still take practice exams and do study questions etc?

AnonymousInactive@CPA hopeful,
You'll get it man, if you can get a 70 with minimal study, I am sure you'll kill it with actual effort.
@ Seattle,
I am done with all of the chapters. I did all of the chapters in about 2-3 weeks. And I actually did all the chapters for all of the Becker books for all of the sections. I graduated back in May and have been studying since January reading & doing all MCQs for each section. BEC was my last section so I decided to take that one first.
Basically I am using NINJA 10-Point Package + Becker Online + Internet if need be. I read and do all MCQs then go back to chapter 1 and outline the entire chapter each study day. For example, today I did a practice test to see where I have some holes in my knowledge, then I outlined chapter 3. But I rewrote both of my chapter 1 and chapter 2 outlines before progressing to chapter 3. These outlines aren't that big, maybe 2-4 pages depending. This strategy has worked for me as I feel confident to take the test tomorrow if I had too, haha. Unfortunately I have to wait until July. Your plan sounds great too as your scores show you are getting the material.

Jennifer241MemberI am using Wiley books. I have not touched the WTB, I save that for my review week as it will give me a true reflection of where I am at.
I have finished in prior weeks, Module 40,41, and 42.Touched slightly on Module 43 (I want to come back to that one later) Corp Gov, IT, Econ, and Fin Risk Mngmt.
I have Module 46 Cost done this week, and I am almost done with Module 44 Performance Measures.
I plan to move onto Module 47 Planning, Control & Analysis tomorrow, I should get halfway through that module and finish it up on Thursday.
It is very time consuming doing my notes/flashcards. I read, then do the questions, and finally I write my notes/flashcards.

kenster7773ParticipantI am so pumped about BEC!! I am flowing with it! I just started studying for it less than 2 weeks ago and I am already through 25% of the material. It has just been a blast! I have annihilated all the IT material and the governance material. Now I am working on the globalization study unit. I am using Gleim alone and I knocked out a 89 on audit. This is my second section and it is SO MUCH easier than audit. Audit was just brutal. Is my experience unique? Are others finding BEC to be a wet, moist, creamy cupcake as well? I am just on a roll and loving it!!!!!!! Just had to share my bliss! I hope all others are enjoying the journey as well. The key is to get the first exam under the belt. Once I did that my energy went through the roof as well as my focus! Let's do this TEAM! Every man (and woman) a CPA!!!!!!!!!
AUD - 95 (89 1st time - expired)
BEC - 85 (1st time)
REG - 87 (1st time)
FAR - 82 (1st time)June 12, 2013 at 10:16 pm #440861

joch0803MemberUmmmm…..if I had to describe BEC as a desert it would be three day old fruit cake that someone dropped on the floor but because someone went out their way to make it for you, you are forced to eat it, even though it jiggles weirdly and had a strange smell. Hahahaha
I am glad that you are enjoying this section, keep that energy up!!!!!!
I am camped out at the library tonight (well til 8pm when shut down, sigh small towns I tell ya). Finishing up chapter 3, goal is to knock chapter 4 out yet this week. I'm starting to feel the burn, between work and studying I am mentally exhausted.
I don't even have kids or significant other so I give major probs to all you parents out there!!!!! Idk how you guys do it!!

MCLKTParticipantHey BEC Fam!
Dutkas, thanks for the links and video, those are very helpful!
Jennifer, you are going to just crush BEC this time around 🙂
Seattle!!! Congrats on REG 🙂 I'm so lucky to get to go through these exams with you as a constant study buddy!
This is a second try at BEC for me. In Jan 2012 I scored 74. I started redoing everything like it was my first time, but I remember sooo much of it. Now I've pulled out my notes from last year and I'm rewatching the videos (Yaeger, I love Cindy!). I'm adding additional notes too.
I plan to finish that up by Sunday.
Then I will rewrite the notes for one chapter at a time and do all of the assigned homework and start my Fact Nugget book.
[ETA Practice Exam scheduled for 2/23. Then review weak areas. Practice Exam 6/30. Then one more full week of final review. On 7/9 I'm going to pass BEC, and be DONE!!!!!]
This is soooo much more fun than REG.
