And I am now going to obsessively worry until the score release. I thought the first testlet was fairly easy and I only flagged 6 questions (at least 3 of which I’m fairly certain I was able to determine the correct answer). And then came the second and third testlets, which also seemed fairly easy. So now I can’t determine if I prepared well enough that everything seemed pretty doable or if I actually did horrible on the first testlet and so the last two testlets really did get easier. The thing that’s really confusing me is that even though I know some of the MCQs should have come from left field because they were pre-test, there were maybe 4 or 5 MCQs at most that seemed a bit difficult and even those were just theory questions that could have most answers easily eliminated. I even thought the 3 WC problems weren’t too terrible.

Has anyone else thought all parts of an exam seemed pretty straightforward and not too difficult and still passed? I probably had around 50 total hours of prep for the exam, which consisted of some Roger lectures, the Roger book, the Wiley book, the Wiley Focus Notes, the NINJA Notes, and extensive use of the WTB this past weekend. I thought I was coming in low for my prep time but after that exam I’m wondering if I either significantly over-prepared or under-prepared.

The wait is going to drive me crazy (as I’m sure it does everyone else)!

Really, you can never tell with BEC. I walked out confident that a passing grade would be the results, and this is with about 120 hours of studying. Then, I received a 74, which really hurt the second time. You may have underprepared, or just enough for a passing grade. My passing grade for BEC was about 50 hours of study time, but I had taken it about 2 months earlier. It all depends on you.

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97
    Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!

I felt the same way for regulation – the testlets didn't seem to get harder. Same with audit the second time around. I think it's because you were well prepared and can bet you have a passing score coming your way!

    A - 75
    B - 78 God is good.
    F - 77 Answered prayers.
    R - 84! Done!!

Paperwork sent - waiting for license!!
Still on a cloud and in shock. Through God, all things will happen.

I hope so, Determined CPA! I actually searched for what constitutes a difficult testlet on here and it seems like that means that some of the questions are worded trickier or are quite a bit longer in length. I do distinctly remember having at least one question in the 2nd or 3rd testlet that involved calculations and was 2-3 paragraphs long. Plus there was another question that I was having a hard time with and couldn't come to an answer listed until I modified the needed formula a bit. AND there was a question that I do know I got wrong because I found the answer in the Wiley book and it was never addressed in Roger at all and was literally one sentence in a tiny bubble in Wiley, so I guess that could mean it was difficult. So maybe at least one of those testlets was difficult? Ah well, who really knows, lol. I'm going to try not to think about it until March 7th or 10th now.

Congratulation on taking the exam, and aren't you lucky that you only wait 9-10 days? haha. I had a similar experience with BEC. Since it's not adaptive, you just never know how you did until you get the score. I'm crossing my fingers and toes for you!

    CPA - Since 2015
    CISA - Smashed 2012
    CIA - Passed 2015

@ amandilee – My recent pass was similar to your experience. Everything seemed straightforward and I knew I had a VERY good chance of passing, but like everyone else, not 100% sure. I got a 76. My previous exam experience, I felt lost and knew I failed for sure and I did, but with a 74 (I was in the bubble). It's weird how these tests are scored because I felt VERY confident scoring a 76 and thought I completely failed scoring a 74… Good luck!

    BEC - Passed!
    AUD - ??
    REG - ??
    FAR - (July 2014)

Using Roger CPA Review, Wiley Test Bank, and NINJA Notes/Video/MCQ.
