Hey guys,

First exam ever today (BEC), would like your thoughts on the questions below:

1) First testlet I completed in 25-30 minutes, was relatively easy. Second testlet was insanely difficult, spent 45-50 minutes on this testlet. Third testlest was a cake walk, was done in 20 minutes.This tells me I did horrible on the second testlet – any success stories of people passing after bombing a difficult testlet?

2)How are the sims graded (I have heard they are graded via computer), if thats the case, I think I did alright by using a lot of buzzwords. Is this truely the case?

All in all, I felt over prepared on the two medium testlets and under prepared on the difficult testlet. Not sure what this translates to in a grade.

Best not to think about it-there is no way you can tell how you did. It could have been easy because you were prepared.

I think half way through the second testlet, I was sure I had failed. I was ready to just throw in the towel and prepare myself for the BEC exam changes. I ended up passing with a relatively convincing score. So who knows. If you got some of the more challenging questions right, they could be weighted differently.

I would not worry about the SIMs either.

same here. I took BEC today and left out head burning and crying. I was so panic during the exam. My first testlet was the easiest one. I feel like it is easy-hard-medium or easy-hard-hard really can't tell the later two but they were definitely harder than the first. I already knew I got five wrong(there were more I know). They really test you on detailed knowledge for the numbers you need to choose to include in the calculations. I was constantly struggling between two answers for the calculations, and the difference is whether you plus that specific number or not. This is my first test. I hope I can get a passing grade. But 75% does not sound like a C for me, it more they need a B+.

took BEC today too, left with a weird feeling that I have no idea how I did. its like if I pass I wont be surprised but if I fail I wont be surprised either!
As it always happens to me, the test was loaded with questions from sections that I lightly reviewed, and barely had questions from topics I relatively nailed. I was focusing heavily on Fin management / econ/ cost accounting but it felt like my test consisted only of IT and corporate governance! you never know indeed

Took the test today
It was IT/corporate governance exam mainly.
And a little from all other stuff.

I got questions from all topics but IT/corp governance/fin/cost have the most. My test was not IT or Corp governance mainly. There was not a heavily tested topic on my test. One may have two more questions than other. But it was about the weight from every topic.
