    Hi All,

one of my friends failed by 1 point in BEC and this made me question if it is logical to appeal bcoz…it has a written portion and is sometimes checked by Humans….is there a chance and what exactly is the procedure and how much expense ‘n waiting?

    FAR 72,71,81 🙂
    AUD 64,71, 72, 75 🙂 I'm done !!!
    REG 73, 74, 74, 84 🙂

    #1. Nobody wins appeals

#2. If an appeal could work, BEC seems to be the most reasonable,

as there is a subjective element to it; however, see #1.

Not worth it. They won't win. They will waste their cash.

There is a high probability that someone looked at their test already with an on the cusp score and it was determined 74.

    AUD - (74),78
    BEC - 85
    FAR - 86
    REG - 84

If he scored 74 it means he was on bubble. That means it has already been checked by humans (a team of 3 CPAs). Saying that no room to win he is just unlucky.

They just make it difficult to win an appeal. If your friend is rich and they have time to waste and money they can go for it but chances of winning 99% to 1%. BEC had the highest pass rate the past quarter, with that in mind AICPA are not in the adjusting mood. But you never they might want to shut your friend up and just give him the point.

The whole thing of humans grading the paper I find it ridiculous (not a good business plan), how many people sit for a CPA part at time? Tonnes. They probably set certain criteria for your exam to end up in human hands run through a couple of exceptions (ie. excel at pretest and some of the answers were debatable when the candidates complain) then if all your scores added up gets you close enough.

Tadaaa human comes and gives a 1 point=75 yippee!!!

I wouldn't mind if all BEC was graded by hand because then someone will probably feel super bad for you and give you a point how may synonyms are there in a word. A computer cant know all possibilities.

I don't know how the bubble thing exactly works but one thing is good about it that mostly the bubble bursts in favor of candidates…still its good than throwing out straight by the computer saying “you are failed” that sucks
